I recommend the 6 " Deflecto with bird screen

My fault for not reviewing the bird screen. Starlings are everywhere in North America. Enough to let the starlings in. If you don't install your own bird screen I recommend the 6" deflecto with bird protection instead.

Air vent not flush at back

The air vent was the perfect size, but it had an internal flange that I had to cut off so it would fit snugly against the outer wall. This is not the company's fault as my dryer vent was designed for a flush vent. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and after a small change it works great.

Design flaw - Strange vibrating noise when the wind blows outside

The vent was installed at the end of the duct that connected to the extractor hood under my kitchen cabinet. The ventilation slits open when the extractor hood is switched on and thus help to evacuate the cooking vapors to the outside. This part of the action works well. The problem is when the hood is not turned on. Any draft from outside the home that hits the louvers of this hood goes straight through the duct and into the valve on the cooker hood, creating noise - at any time of the day or…
