K&N Series 63 Air Blower

This unit looks a lot better than the stock air intake. Very large tube with huge filter. My only disappointment was the lack of a good seal around the inlet tube that goes into the filter housing. Large gap between "seal" and pipe. The acceleration sound is good and reminds me of the 4-barrel carburetor era. I didn't hear the rumble at cruising speed, but did hear a small noise when going uphill and revving. a little up. I didn't pull anything heavy that could cause a constant hum depending on

costs money? fits filter

Having installed this series 63 on my 2010 f150 with a 5.4 liter V8 engine I still doubt its value. Power was significantly improved between 1,000 and 3,000 rpm, and there was nothing else to boast about. Idle is good and quiet, full throttle is deeper with no hum like my 2007 Tundra. Mileage increased by an average of about half a mile per gallon. Installation was easy despite having a lot of experience with kits like this. All the necessary gear was included and the instructions were pretty…

Stumbles at low speeds but loves the sound

Not sure if anyone else has had this experience but I stumble at low speed or what could be due to the ECU hesitating on which gear to select after setting CAI. I will say it was a simple install that took a whole 30 minutes, of course I assembled a lot of packages (MAF, filer assembly etc) before removing the standard air intake which saved a lot of time. Do this if you want to simplify the task, executing this procedure seems slow. I'll disconnect the battery again and see if the ECU detects…

Suitable for Expedition 2010? Not as much.

I might be concerned, but if there's a 1" gap between the new housing and the old inlet, I get nervous. I mean the box where the old filter was and where the new housing goes. There's another filter between that space and the air intake, but I see some things spilling out in that area and I don't want that anywhere next to my filter. As for the sound, there was a big difference. A big difference. At first I thought it was pretty cool that my Expedition sounded like I was hearing some of the…
