This is a cheap imitation created to take advantage of the current interest in retro typewriters. This typewriter is very nice. And I was very happy with the ribbon support levers, which I have never seen on any typewriter myself. But it also has some strange problems. The very first thing I noticed when using it was that the hammers just didn't make that nice clicking sound like they did on an old typewriter. Due to all the negative reviews I was so scared to buy it but I really, really wanted it so I jumped at the chance and figured I could return it if needed. I will definitely not come back! I absolutely LOVE it! However, a change was needed. The spacebar is set too low, so my thumb hits the metal case with every press. Very uncomfortable and hurts if left unattended. But I just taped a thick strip of felt (maybe half an inch) over the spacebar and that raised it enough to fix the problem. (see…
