Reliable performer

I rented one from Frontier before I bought this one. They appear to be very reliable and don't seem to generate enough heat to have a short lifespan in the future. The configuration screens are also well thought out.

Pros
  • Doesn't have a coax connector
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Exactly what I expected

The box the modem arrived in shows signs of being opened in the past. (You could see where the tape was peeling off) Contents "appear" to be in good condition, all neatly wrapped in plastic. Disabled Frontier provided and installed a modem. After 30 minutes the modem has not connected to the DSL. I reinstalled the old modem, it's been working for 3 minutes. I tried the "new" modem for another 30 minutes and no joy! Device repackaged and pressed the return button at Revain, sent back!

Pros
  • Parallel Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac
Cons
  • So-so

It works the way a modem should work.

I bought this modem myself because after months of fighting with Frontier my old modem broke. I was just fed up with it and decided to buy my own modem and let me tell you that it's definitely worth the money I spent because my internet is so much better than those little modems that Frontier gives you . You get very slow while playing games and you can use many devices at the same time that consume many megabytes. I think I'm a good hate modem, I'll give it 5 stars out of 5.

Pros
  • Primary VoIP phone line (optional)
Cons
  • Negative gift

Not the best choice for computers and accessories

Our frontier service didn't work, even though the box says it's a top-of-the-line product. Then, after spending a lot of time, a technician came to my house to find that the router was broken.

Pros
  • Four gigabit ethernet ports for high-speed home networking
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
