Too small for BMW/Volvo filters.

Tight but not a cigar. I have a 2004 Volvo XC70 and the filter cap is as described, 86mm - 86.0mm to be exact, I checked with digital calipers. This cap has a spacing of 85.8mm between opposing planes. You can drive the box wrench onto the filter, unscrew it, but once you screw it back in, there's no easy way to remove the box wrench from the filter. I also bought an OEM TOOLS box wrench (cast iron). It is sized so that you can easily remove/reinstall the filter cover.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Wrinkled

Excellent value for money and quality. Great fit. Works perfectly!

This is great value and will last as long as your N55 engine if used correctly. Filter assembly, but if it does, then the lid has been fitted too tightly or it has been fitted too tightly. Turning the plastic oil filter housing cover without the correct torque will require a new filter housing cover and/or tool. would buy this product and the same mfg products.

  • Beautifully packaged

The perfect fit is just the filter wrench you need

Some filter wrenches for 86mm plain top oil filter caps can have play - people end up wrapping the cap with tape to get a tight fit achieve. Sometimes the caps get too tight because the guy in front of you didn't take the time to use a torque wrench or screw them in with a strap wrench. In this situation, it's always a little annoying to use a wrench with play because it feels like the wrench might slip off, and winding the tape around the cap or inside the wrench just sucks from the start…

Pros
  • Sample for a year

  • Small change

Too tight - had to pry off the oil cap

The tool had difficulty fitting the cap on a 2018 BMW X5 with N55 engine. As mentioned, I've been playing around with the tool to see if there's a spot where it fits better. I did not find this place. I had to hand tap the filter housing with a tool - no hammer needed. I had to take the tool out of the cap after it was removed. I ended up replacing my plastic oil cap with an aluminum hex cap for easier future removal. After separating the tool from the cap, I measured both with a caliper. The…
