Direct exchange works exactly as it should. I had to adjust the jets, main jet out 2-2 1/2 turns, idle jet out slowly until the fastest the tractor stopped fairly easily at idle

Having not installed the carburetor yet, all I can say is that the replacement carburetor looks like an exact replacement up close. I am preparing for a general upgrade of my 8N.

I have read reviews that said some had a gas leak. I'm usually lucky when it comes to things like this, but not this time. I would return the carburetor and completely overhaul the old one. My modification worked fine.

One of the ball studs was badly bent leaving a deep scratch on the bowl. I was able to gently bend it into place instead of putting it back in place, but it's this kind of quality issue that hurts decent reviews.

I have owned Ford 8N tractors for over 60 years and have always serviced them myself. In all that time I must have replaced 10 carbs. This is absolutely the best replacement I have ever had and I usually spend more money on a Ford original carburetor.

Installed well on my 8n tractor but leaks fuel everywhere. I've tried caulking all areas it could be coming from, but then it just fills the air intake. From the moment I turn on the fuel, I only have a few seconds to set up the setup before it floods, regardless of the carb settings.

UPDATE: The second carburetor has the same problem. It looks like soft metal and flows. I'll try again to tape the fuel filter threads with tape. Customer support used to be "good" as the first carb I got broke. They sent me another one and this one seemed to work. Just make sure the gas filter is screwed into the main body properly. (No, they miss ) Fits Ford 8N. Not exactly the same as the original. There are air holes but they must serve a purpose. They also appear to be made of silver alloy
