The dizzying equipment does not have to be removed from the old one. It fits well, however I had to modify the fuel line a bit as it is tight. Make sure you mount it as close to TDC as possible so you have room to rotate it for proper timing. I installed this in about 3 months with no problems! PS buy a pig tail! That should imo go hand in hand with dizziness.

I really liked the simple 1-wire (or 2-wire if using a tachometer) connection. I had no problems with the installation. I put the engine at TDC (top dead center) or cylinder number 1 and removed the old clearance. Slide a new O-ring onto the shaft. (Mine didn't come with one) Put some grease on the gear and o-ring and put it in place right away. I got a connector (two wires) for it and voila. Check your time and you should be good to go. performance is great.

I use this HEI in my 1975 Ford Van. Having used universities for decades, I know their shortcomings. Infant mortality is usually caused by a lack of lubrication on the upper sleeve. So if you buy it we recommend taking it apart and putting plenty of grease on the top bushing. This HEI did not have a pin to hold the gear in the assembly making it difficult to install and reinstall. You can do that, but installing the stylus like others makes it easy.
