They turned out to be much better than I expected. I've had quite a few of these and the plastic melted easily. These clips don't have this problem. I was able to solder the wires without melting the plastic caps, which made me very happy. They seem to stick very well and don't come off easily. I will buy more.

I made probe tips out of it for my miniscope, signal generator and component tester. They work great for this purpose. They are a little light and can handle a maximum of 18 AWG without sacrificing the printing action. They stick firmly to whatever you clip them to, so what else do you need in a test clip. I like it.

I've been with EE for 40 years and have used just about every version of gripper or clamp imaginable. It's appropriate, but that's all I'll do. Their weakness is that the cap doesn't fit well on the body and can fail, requiring you to fiddle with it. You can find much better quality at very comparable prices at hobbyist electronics stores, although you probably won't find all of these colors.

I purchased these test clips with breadboard hooks and they certainly met my needs. Excellent goods. However, I believe the description should state that the terminal is intended to be soldered to an AWG 18 or smaller wire conductor. The top part of the button is designed to be removed, the wire passed through the hole and soldered to the conductor. The button is then returned to its place and the clip is ready for use.
