Stable at high speeds

Fairly reliable product On my 2015 4Runner. Very stable even at 80 km/h. Totally worth it. I wish the bolts were shorter because they will touch the roof of the car when the weight of the kayak is added and tied down. I used eraser caps to avoid scratches.

Excellent purchase! - Stand for kayaks, canoes and SUP

I put them together very easily and I, a woman, used a 1/2" wrench instead of the one that came with it, but only because it was easier. I had a little trouble putting them on myself, I'm a bit short and need a third hand. I haven't put on my kayak or used the included ratchet straps but can't wait for warmer weather to go on an adventure!

Poorly designed and manufactured mounting brackets

The metal of the mounting brackets is very thin and the non-slip rubber is also very thin and delicate. They are hard enough to tighten to prevent slipping without damaging the rubber and deforming the very thin metal clips. I had to replace the rubber with bike tube butyl rubber to have enough downforce to keep the racks from slipping when the wind hits the kayak from the side. They are very poorly designed, you'd better spend more to get properly designed frames.

Well done - excellent stands

Very satisfied, arrived quickly, ALL stainless steel fittings complete (first one for me) Totally accurate description and web photos. Amazing quality, the straps and bands alone easily cost as much as the entire package at most sporting goods stores. They are very easy and quick to assemble (15-20 minutes). The instructions are well done even if you are not mechanically inclined. Love the extra JAM nut for the bottom of the thumb/pivot nuts. The small wrench is the only downside, it can and…

Good for the price. Not the best.

The J-Pillars get the job done, but with no frills and seemingly little technology. The holes don't line up, but I was able to screw them on anyway. It comes with the EXACT number of nuts, bolts and washers. Do not give up! The knurled screws attached to the traverses must be constantly tightened! I know I'll lose one on the freeway. Why not put a second nut or tighten the most important nuts? They skimped on the rubber, which made it less reliable and prone to wobbling, which likely caused the
