Description of Abatron Wood Restoration Kit - 24oz: LiquidWood Epoxy Wood Hardener/Consolidant (12oz) + WoodEpox Epoxy Wood Filler (12oz)

Repair Rotted Wood: Use LiquidWood as a consolidant to harden and strengthen wood that is soft, porous or falling apart. Once saturated with LiquidWood, fill and rebuild any missing sections of wood using WoodEpox. Repair wood windows, doors, trim, columns, posts, and other wood elements. Makes durable, cost effective, structural repairs. Permanently restores damage cause by weather, water, and much more. No Shrinkage: Easy to apply high-performance compound. Bonds permanently to the existing wood. Will not shrink, delaminate, crack, or crumble. Easy to Use: LiquidWood has a 30-45 minute pot life (working time) after being mixed and the treated wood will harden in just a few hours; WoodEpox has a 20-30 minute pot life and can be mixed and molded by hand. Apply WoodEpox while the LiquidWood is still tacky for a quick and more efficient repair. Plastic g.loves are recommended. Mimics Wood: Once LiquidWood and WoodEpox harden they are ready to easily sand, saw, route, drill, nail, stain, and paint. Safe to Use: This wood repair kit is Greenguard certified, meaning that it contains virtually no VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) and is safe for interior as well as exterior use. Contains no solvents or water. Very low odor.

This works great, but requires some work.

These are two products that work very well together. Both products are two parts that you mix together to activate the curing process. The liquid product really penetrates the raw wood and creates a solid material. The instructions say you can clean rotten wood, but I haven't tried it. I carved some really soft wood and then brushed it with preservative. It worked great. Don't worry it's a little thick. The putty is surprisingly light. You put two components together and then probably spread…

Save Money: Polishing and Wood Care

The contractor wanted to charge us $10,000 to replace rotten wood with new wood. I fixed the problem with epoxy for less than $300. Site preparation: Remove rotten wood, cover if necessary if rain is expected next week. Carry out a final check after about a week and remove any new rotten parts. clean area. Product Preparation: If the area to be filled is large/deep, consider soaking a few cotton balls in liquid product and placing them in the hole first. In this case use paste for the outer…

Good product. Impressive results. Highly recommended.

I had a piece of pine masonry that was beginning to rot near the sill of the sash. The piece was dry and crumbled. First I applied Liquid Wood with a brush. It is a two-component liquid epoxy resin. The liquid wood made the crumbling surface as hard as concrete within hours. No issues with stickiness or other issues. Instructions and mixing were simple and clear. Second, I filled the hole with wood epoxy. This is also a two-component mixture. Essentially you have two pieces folded like dough…

I swear this is the best product ever :) Saves a lot $

I purchased this item from this seller on 22nd November 2016 but the leave feedback button is gone but I wanted to leave it alone now , because I've only used the product :) So it took me some time to get the courage to do this project, but today I didn't think about it, I just did it. I watched the online video a few times, read the instructions a few times, and then got to work. I'm renovating a wooden floor from 1946 (I know it's original because I removed some walls and the floor was worn…

Basic Repair

I bought this rotten wood repair kit for my 20 year old casement windows. I have up to 5-6 repairs and am very happy with each one. I was careful and meticulous, which I think is the key to success here. Softwood needs to be treated and the repair needs to be permanent in order for it to last. Also, take the time to prime and paint the area for proper protection. I followed the directions, mixed the correct amounts, let the mixture dry and applied as directed. I removed the soft wood with a…

Preparation and slowness produce great results

Most of these have been well covered by other reviewers, but I'll add a few tips/thoughts based on my experience with this product. I bought to cover termite damage to exposed rafters. Follow the directions and remove any loose materials and return to the wood if there is paint. This is the hardest part of the job. After applying paint to liquid wood (use a disposable wood chip brush), allow it to become tacky. Mix small amounts of epoxy on a piece of plastic tape taped flat to the board to…
