So I read the reviews on here and did what others suggested. Spray the area with a mixture of water and a very small amount of dish soap. Apply the foil, spray again and use a squeegee to remove bubbles and set the foil. I only bought one roll which was good for most one window but it was just to try. It blocks the light and is now reflected outwards.

It makes a world of difference in our Los Angeles apartment. Our landlord had to cut down a beautiful shade tree due to complaints from neighbors which was a tragedy. Our apartment now borders a car park and it was impossible to stay cool until we fixed this. This has been of great importance in restoring at least a small part of the quality of life in a habitable environment.

Bought this to deal with the heat in the room. It's a rental so we didn't want to invest in blinds but the sun is awfully bright. This stuff worked wonders! Fair warning that installation was a complete headache. USE MUCH MORE SOAPY WATER THAN YOU THINK! I give it four stars because it's still 1/4 the price of the cheapest blinds and does what I need.

I taped this sheet to the surface of the aquarium to reduce the amount of light entering the aquarium. The fish are a variety of nocturnal catfish that hide during the day. Now they come out while we're on our feet and we can see them a little bit through the foil on the front or on the sides where we didn't put the foil. Also, we used this in a west-facing half-window, which can be distracting at sunset. We plan to put in all south facing windows to reduce the amount of light and heat.

I've applied foil a number of times over the years. It would be better for people if they applied the film with a curl towards the window. When the corrugation is away from the window, the cut ends tend to rise above the glass with a tendency for the film to curl. My results above match the results of the curl facing away from the window. When applied as recommended, it applies great and is easier to apply. As a result, I gave it to my sister because it didn't suit me, I thought maybe it was the angle of view from my windows, but it didn't work for my sister's windows either. I give it two stars because it stuck to the window and was easy to install, but otherwise I'm not happy with it at all. My sister keeps it on her windows because it works and provides a window shade. I would throw this product away and go for something else to be honest.

I was happy with the product for three days, it actually made a big difference (my room faces west and gets the most sunlight). With this product, it seemed like the room was really cooler. Installation was excruciating, took quite a while, did everything the instructions said, I think I did a great job, there were no air bubbles, no wrinkles. Unfortunately my beautiful work fell apart after 3 days. I need to figure out what to do because I really like its heat reflective properties, just hope…

I found the enclosed instructions for this window film easy to use: clean the window, measure the window and cut the film (with scissors), spray the window with water, apply the film to the window, air bubbles with a squeegee remove. In fact, there is no glue, so the slide can be lifted and moved repeatedly if needed.
