I bought these plugs and a 1/8" NPT tap to fit a drain plug on my John Deere lawn mower differential Let me change the oil now, no removing the entire rear axle assembly from my lawn tractor every time what a time saver good quality threads.

I ordered 1/4 NTP and what I received is much smaller. Have a look around - the max outside diameter should be 0.54" and they are 0.52". It may not seem like much, but it's too small for NPT. Judging by the reviews, some of them are good and some are bad. I definitely got sick and they will be back.

These are just the right dimensions for NPT plugs. Some reviewers seem to be misinformed about how the NPT diameter is measured. Due to the bad reviews I thought the forks might be mislabeled but after receiving them they are fine. I used a 1/8-27 NPT threaded tap (pre-drilled 23/64 which works best for my application), applied some Permatex high temp thread sealant to the threads and it worked great.
