Looks better than OEM

I'm not sure if this unit offers any real performance increase over stock in general. I had an MSD coil that stopped working so I replaced it and my car started right away.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Doubtful

Accel is a great role! GOOD SPARK!

EXCELLENT roll at an EXCELLENT price! Put the boost coil, distributor and spark plug wires on my 89 Grand Marquis 302 and it runs BETTER than ever! Dizzy as a mustang!

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • crumpled

Great reel for the money.

Excellent replacement spool. Easy to replace (for a mechanic or avid handyman). I noticed a smoother ride and a quicker start. This should take a long time. I'll update when this leads to griffin. Even if I don't wait

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Very expensive

Easy start and better gas mileage

I bought this for my '89 Ford E-350 RV with a 460 BB engine. It works well with my MSD 6AL ignition box. I've heard too many bad things about the MSD coil so I decided to give this one a try. I'm glad I did. Easier starting and after 1500 miles the spark plugs look very good. Very well worth the money.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Works well - spares

I installed this on a 7.5 liter Ford engine in my camper van and it works great. Due to its location on the engine, installation was a bit tricky, and the stock electrical connector was tight (I added dielectric grease to the outer plastic of the connector to fit this connector's port). Definitely faster engine response, especially since I connected it to ACCEL low resistance spark plug leads.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Everything ok

Worth every penny Best replacement parts

Super fast arrival. It took 10 minutes to install it. There are no instructions in the box, so be careful and disconnect the negative battery terminal. In terms of performance, there are some changes. I can't say I feel more power, but the idle settles down and when I turn on the powerband dips aren't as present as they used to be and were very noticeable. I use 8.5mm MSD superconductors and copper connectors. My Bronco flies great now. Just a gentle pull to the red line. great product

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Operation speed

Works great but how much better than OEM is subjective

1995 Ford F150, difficult to start when hot. This reel solved that problem and I am satisfied. For the price Revain sells it for it's what you want if nothing else, it's well built and looks good on the engine. However, if you buy this coil from other suppliers, it costs twice as much as the OEM coil. Now this reel worked great but if I had paid 2x+ I would ask what I got for my money. After all, this part alone won't get you fire-breathing startups. As for full price ACCEL being worth the cost

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Some flaws

Pro- Pretty yellow color. Con- It doesn't work.

Looks and feels good but this reel won't work for you. Tried using it on a freshly rebuilt engine including initial run and break-in. Huge mistake. Couldn't figure out why it wasn't firing, the timing and fueling seemed correct and I saw a "spark" when I placed the tester on the spark plugs. The problem was that the spark wasn't hot enough because the boost coil had failed. I tried running it over and over again, wearing out the new cam and trying everything I could think of to get the engine…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • thin
