Accelerator Pedal position Sensor's primary job is to monitor the position of the throttle pedal and send an electronic signal to open the throttle body as you depress the gas pedal. The APP sensor essentially tells your engine how fast or slow to drive as you press the gas pedal. When you press down or lift off the throttle, it sends an electrical signal to the vehicle’s ECU or ECM as it's also referred to, and then transmits that signal to the fuel system. The primary reason why this part would fail is due to exposure to high heat as it's typically located on the floorboard and next to the firewall of the vehicle. There are occasions when it will fail, wear out or need to be replaced.Like most components on the vehicle, a bad or failing APP sensor will display a few warning symptoms including triggering error codes, warning lights and a few physical symptoms that should alert the driver that a problem exists. This Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Assembly Fits the Following Vehicles: 2003-2007 Honda Accord, 2003-2006 Honda Acura MDX, 2004-2008 Honda Acura TL, 2004-2008 Honda Acura TSX, 2005-2006 Honda CR-V, 2007-2011 Honda Element, 2005-2008 Honda Pilot, 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline. Customers can find the product you need accurately according to the OE number. OE part number: 37971-RBB-003,37971-PZX-003,37971-RCA-A01,37971-RDA-A01; Replace Part Number: 5S8776, APS147, PPS1046, 72-7080, 1802-300281, 2-80046, SU10238, 699-199, 699199.

Replacement for 2006 Honda Pilot

Works well, fits and is easy to install. The only problem was that the cable hole was too small. I ran the drill 1/4" through the hole and it worked.

Pros
  • Pleases
Cons
  • A bit of a change

Very oriental fit but required some minor adjustments to fit

Fairly easy to fit one of these parts to your car but required some minor adjustments (sawing and bending) to be a 1:1 factory original to replace. Has been working fine for a few weeks now so can't complain.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Interval

Product worked on a 2006 Acura TL

I was able to replace the accelerometer for 1/4 the price from Autozone. A simple solution with the right tools; it took longer because I didn't have a long socket wrench. The sensor hole for attaching the metal wire end was not big enough/aligned. I used an allen wrench to align it.

Broke less than a week after installation, recommended to buy elsewhere

Acura MDX 2006 A week after installation the part failed as many people understand that this part is vital and replacement cannot be moved. I recommend that if you can find a part in the same price range, or even pay a little more, it's much more worth it than risking buying a part that plays a big role in performance.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • So-so

Not quite plug and play

I had to drill the part where the throttle cable connects as the hole was too small. Fast drill 1/4" later, fits perfectly and works exactly as intended. I saved a few hundred dollars by not giving it to the dealer. Battery is smaller! Recommended, even with small mod for Acura TL Type S

The goods are good BUT. in switches

I think the part works as it should, but it didn't completely solve my problem. I may update this review later in the future. However, please note that I also encountered the same problem that I believe someone else had. When installing this part, there is an issue with the alignment of the two holes that the throttle cable goes through. I had to use tools to open the space. Hope this doesn't affect functionality. If you don't know what you're doing you risk breaking a part or worse. Just for…

Works but mine needs to be changed

This part worked for my 2008 Honda Ridgeline. an uneven hole in the throttle cable, which made correct assembly impossible without rework. I had to take a drill and use it to poke a small hole holding the throttle cable so my cable head would fit securely. In general it works. However, a change should not be necessary if the product was a direct replacement. 4 stars because it works and solved my problem.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

APP Sensor Replacement for 2006 Acura TSX

I used this to replace the APP sensor on my 2006 Acura TSX at 166.xxx miles as I've had some hesitation and bumps at constant throttle on the had freeway. The OEM part was over $270, a fraction of the cost. Installation was pretty easy except I had to clean the receiving end of the APP sensor where the cylindrical end of the throttle cable goes into a tiny bit. After my first test drive, the car drives better than when I bought it (I bought it used)! We'll see how this sensor performs over time

  • Dope 🔥
