I have four of the Sightmark laser boresights - the 12 gauge, 9mm, 7.62x39mm, and .223.I had used a Bushnell laser boresight before getting this set of chamber loaded laser boresights. The Bushnell is the kind that you stick into the muzzle end of the gun, fitted with an arbor matched to the barrel size. The problem with this device was that the arbors never fit quite right - they were always either too tight or too loose, plus you had to try to seat the body of the boresight in the center of…

Pros
 • Airsoft
Cons
 • This is not repeatable in my 6.5 Creedmoor.

Laser Boresight Works for Gun Mount Practice

I bought this laser bore sight to practice my shotgun mount and swing. It works very well for this. Obviously, because of distance and ambient lighting effects, it works best indoors, but an external wall or other suitable outdoor surface may also work well if not in bright sunlight. The only limitation of this product was the "reliability" of the on-off function of the laser. As others have said, there is no on-off switch; rather, the light is energized by placing all three watch…

Pros
 • Lasers
Cons
 • Difficult to use in bright daylight

Ordered 2 and still not right for my 20 guage

I really want this item to work, but it's not great. The first one I ordered put the dot in about a 18" circle around the target at 50 yds depending on how it was rotated in the barrel. I returned it and got a second one.same problem but maybe a 12" circle this time. I marked the side of the boresight in in 3 different spots, put it in the chamber with the #1 mark towards the top of the gun, checked it in the scope, rotated the boresight so the #2 mark was at the top, checked it in the scope…

Pros
 • Fastest gun zeroing and sighting system
Cons
 • May not fit all shotgun models

Helps when travelling and sighting

Remember this is a bore sighter and gets you close. For a shotgun, out to 30 yards for turkeys, waterfowl or upland birds, this will be right on the money. Just double check the pattern after boresighting. I have the end of barrel bore sighter. But needed something easier to use and for traveling to hunt. And after getting to a hunt and missing a nice gobbler by shooting over a foot high I was convinced to buy this. We re- patterned my gun, (I have a tru-glo red dot) and got it on target. When…

Pros
 • Increase accuracy with precision laser alignment
Cons
 • Can be expensive compared to other boresighting options

Is Tough, Accurate and Does the Job

I already own two other caliber Sightmark laser bore sights, so it was not a hard decision to purchase this one. Although some review made various complaints.E.g. "It is not accurate.I rotate it and it does not stay on point" - not true with any of my Sightmarks. "The battery runs out." Hello! Its not a laser sight.use and stow. "It jams when I load it".well, first, WHY would anyone load it like a load? Place it in the bore.it's a piece of electronics, not ammo! "I can't use it in day light"…

Pros
 • Compatible with most shotgun calibers for versatility
Cons
 • May require constant adjustment to maintain accuracy

Product Specs on my review.

I purchased this and noticed that the packaging and markings were different from the Sightmark website. I called Sightmark directly, and they didn't seem too concerned, but didn't ask for follow up pictures to confirm.Something else about the ebay page for this is that the laser class information is a little confusing. In the description, it's listed as a class IIIA laser, and in the features and details it's listed as a class II laser. The package and documentation I received reflected a class

Pros
 • Suitable for both beginners and experienced shooters
Cons
 • Laser may dim with frequent use

Nice & a tip on storing the batteries

Just what is needed. I put in the wife's 20g and it showed exactly where the gun was pointing so she could practice bringing up the gun and seeing where she was aiming. The original batteries that came with it had one bad one but once I got that sorted, the signal (reg light) was just fine at 30 yards into the trees when it was not bright sunlight. Since there is no "on"/"off" switch, just put a small piece of paper between the last battery and the cap so you store the batteries

Pros
 • Sights & Optics
Cons
 • Can be easily misplaced

Reliable and great value

Not only are these more precise as they're loaded into the chamber, they're very accurate as the red dot position does not deviate when the "shell" is rolled 180 degrees in the chamber. On a badly calibrated unit, this would result in the red dot drifting to the other side of the scope. but in this case it remains perfectly still. The carry case is a nice addition as well.Only downside, no off button, you have to remove the batteries. But, just like those lighted Christmas decorations with…

Pros
 • Perfect for hunting, shooting competitions, and tactical training
Cons
 • May not be suitable for novice shooters

Works, but. - my new review

I bought this for a 2x use (Remington slug guns). Using a laser range finder, I pointed the SightMark boresight at a bright shiny hubcap at 50 yards. Invisible; fair enough. It was sunny/bright outside. I then tried a series of bright objects at 25 yards; still nothing. In desperation, I taped a 8.5" x 11" piece of bright white laser bond paper to the outside of a car window, again at about 25 yards. I took the boresight out of the shotgun, and walked to the car. At 3' from the paper the red…

Pros
 • Durably constructed with quality materials
Cons
 • Not ideal for use in extreme weather conditions

Works well for me in my review

I found that this works quite well in my Rossi 12 gauge single shot.I used it to sight in AR style sights and a red dot from UTG. I haven't had extensive range time to fine tune my sights, but quick initial adjustments with it proved pretty accurate at the range. It can be a little awkward to use, but I have had no problems with it.UPDATE: After a few runs at the range, I examined this a bit more closely, and found that orientation makes difference. The laser apparently does not center very well

Pros
 • Simplifies fine-tuning for optimal performance
Cons
 • May interfere with certain accessories on the shotgun
