GOOD TO HAVE.

Purchased as a "backup" resource only. I love these sharpeners and keep one in our trailer just in case. There is also a kitchen in our houses and one in my shop. When used properly, I have not yet had to replace any of my sharpening stones, but I have had to "reverse" their setup on two tools. So I figured I might buy a "spare" pair "just in case". You are doing a great job. Maybe not like a diamond stone, but they're fine for field work.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

I like this sharpener

An old man at a local hardware store introduced me to the AccuSharp knife sharpener. This is a REAL hardware store with former plumbers, electricians etc and the staff really know their stuff which is why I bought one. This was the best knife sharpener I've ever had (and I have a Lansky too), it's not as good as the Lansky but it works quickly and easily - Lansky can make a better blade but it takes time. I cut my kitchen knives with a few strokes on AccuSharp every time I use them, and I…

AccuSharp Knife Sharpener Replacement Blades 3036-2024

I have been using this product since it first came out a few years ago and only replace the blades when they wear out. I use Stein for my pocket knife collection, but I keep one of these sharpeners in the kitchen and the other in my RV for sharp knives. The replacement blades work very well, but if you put the knives in the dishwasher, they always become dull after a short time. Over the years I've noticed that kitchen knives wear out from flaking theft. But I think you should replace them at…

Get a sharp knife on whetstones

Man I LOVE sharp knives. I have tried many knife sharpeners so far. I paid $130 for Chef's Choice 120. I found something better and a heck of a lot cheaper. Accusharp knife sharpener for $15. This knife sharpener is AWESOME! A few Tipps. I have charcoal knives and stainless steel knives. Using Accusharp on stainless steel knives has been fantastic. However, it wasn't great to use on carbon bladed blades afterwards. I bought a second Accusharp to use with carbon bladed knives. Dude, that's…

Pros
  • Easy installation with a screwdriver
Cons
  • Available in black only

Slow delivery of a poor quality blade

This review is for replacement blades, not a sharpener which I have owned since 2010 and love. About a year ago I opened up the block and replaced the blades and it continued to work fine. In January 2016 I ordered replacement blades from Gatzies. It took over two weeks to receive them. This is an item that fits in a #10 envelope. Now I don't know if AccuSharp changed their blades or if I got unmarked junk, but they came with instructions to fit them into the unit in a specific order. Direction

Pros
  • Diamond sharpened Tungsten Carbide
Cons
  • Requires socket
