Fails after 4 months

I installed this part and after 4 months my oil pressure gauge started jumping again. From time to time it would reset to zero and the alarm would turn on. I suspected it might be the sensor again so I bought another one from the same seller and installed it today. Now everything is in order. When I examined the failed one, I found oil in the plastic plug where the contacts are. See attached photos. This oil explained the error. I hope this was an accidental mistake as this part is not that…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Clarity

I bought this for my 2010 Silverado 5.3L after having problems with the oil pressure dropping to zero after starting. I also replaced the small filter under the sensor while I was there. Between replacing the sensor, the screen under the sensor, the oil filter and fresh oil, my problem was solved. Total oil change time was about 1.5 hours. I didn't remove the air intake to replace the sensor so it was tight, but the hardest part of the job was unplugging the sensor. There is a small section on…

It took a while to install in Silverado, but .

It took some time to install in Silverado, but after the installation my problem was solved. This is a tricky setup, not because it's difficult, but because of the location. Make sure and do your research before installing, especially if you don't want to remove the distributor, which some people do even though it's not required. Unplugging cables isn't intuitive without YouTube videos, and the most useful one doesn't show up in the top search results. I also suggest taking your phone away from

2009 Yukon Denali - Parts

Replaced factory oil pressure sensor after dash sensor stopped working and was generating DTC. This part can be replaced without removing the top of the engine, but it will be difficult. The oil sensor did not work right after the change. I cleared the fault codes and it worked immediately after restarting the engine. You will need to disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail using a fuel line removal tool and disconnect the breather hose from the valve cover to make room to work. The…

No More P0521 - Transmission and Parts

I got code P0521 on my 2011 Silverado 5.3L. I put it on 4 days ago and deleted the code and it hasn't come back yet. I cleaned it before ordering and it came back the same day. I will update if anything changes. There are many videos on YouTube showing how to change this. You'll need a 1 1/16" deep socket (available from Revain for about $5). I used a swivel, a 3" extension, and a 3/8 ratchet and was able to remove them with no problem. The hardest part was unplugging the electrical connector…
