I installed this part and after 4 months my oil pressure gauge started jumping again. From time to time it would reset to zero and the alarm would turn on. Replaced factory oil pressure sensor after dash sensor stopped working and was generating DTC. This part can be replaced without removing the top of the engine, but it will be difficult. The oil sensor did not work right after the change. I cleared the fault codes and it worked immediately after restarting the engine. I got code P0521 on my 2011 Silverado 5.3L. I put it on 4 days ago and deleted the code and it hasn't come back yet. I cleaned it before ordering and it came back the same day. I will update if anything changes. There are many videos on YouTube showing how to change this. You'll need a 1 1/16" deep socket (available from Revain for about $5).
