Description of ACDelco 18M1492 Professional Cylinder Assembly

Meets the brake performance requirements of SAE J1153 and J1154 testing, providing reliability and quality. Pressure tested to ensure safe and confident braking. Cast iron and aluminum specifications; no extra stress on the brake boosting mounting. Geometrical tolerance ensures that the body and plastic reservoir match for a proper fit. Piston assembly and return spring help to prevent brake drag, which can cause premature brake pad wear.

Acdelco junk is good for the braking system

Terrible broken product worked fine for about 1.5 weeks then it started leaking in the same place as my original. I think my original, hopefully made in America, lasted 20 years compared to that foreign built Chinese junk and it must be the Acdelco factory

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • not safe

This product does not fit the 1996 K2500 diesel commuter car.

The Revain parts catalog is in error (5/5/19 at the time of this review). This product is not suitable for 1996 Diesel (6.5L) K2500 Commuter Car. I had to study hard after pulling my old master cylinder only to find the new one was wrong.

  • Price
Cons
  • Almost never

Tight enough for hydraulic parts

This will be the third master cylinder. The first 2, after proper bleeding and installation, every 3-4 months, the lower front oil seal begins to leak, reducing the effectiveness of the brakes. Either Acdelco makes bad production batches, or Revain lets them sit in stock for too long. I hope the 3rd will be charming. Check seals!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some problems

!Excellent braking!

That is, the material is optional! Runs neither inwards nor outwards! Perfect brake pedal feel! Perfect braking! I used to use encoders - cylinders from A1-Cardone, after direct installation expansion tank - seals leaking! I installed an ACDelco brake master cylinder in a 97" Chevrolet Silverado K1500, great! Shipping from the USA to Germany is also very convenient! Thank you very much!

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • Expensive

Good while there is

Good while there is. The first was returned broken before it was loaded onto the truck, there was a crack in the cast metal. The replacement device that I received in November 2014 failed in the most dramatic way while driving, fortunately the electronic brake was able to stop me. The plastic tank came out completely from the metal assembly. The plastic itself has become very brittle and breaks easily. Whatever they put on it, it's not very good brake fluid compatibility when the plastic breaks

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Speed

Now I can stop my truck!

The name speaks for itself. I just got out of the house and luckily didn't drive far, only going 40mph. I forgot something at home and had to go back and my brake pedal hit the floor. I managed to slow down, turn around, and head back to the house, but I had to drive my wife's Tahoe on business. Not that I mind, it's better than my truck, but it hurts when your truck breaks down. Anyway, I got this new brake kit, it probably took about an hour to bleed it, remove the old one, install the new…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Secret
