Description of ACDelco 18M712 Professional Cylinder Assembly

Meets the brake performance requirements of SAE J1153 and J1154 testing, providing reliability and quality. Pressure tested to ensure safe and confident braking. Cast iron and aluminum specifications; no extra stress on the brake boosting mounting. Geometrical tolerance ensures that the body and plastic reservoir match for a proper fit. Piston assembly and return spring help to prevent brake drag, which can cause premature brake pad wear.

Disappointing Performance of Brake System

this brake system was a huge letdown. Automotive parts should never perform as poorly as this one did. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice I was able to identify the real issue was the faulty cylinder assembly. It failed to meet my expectations in terms OF reliability and performance..

Pros
  • None.
Cons
  • Faulty cylinder assembly.

Best stopping power of any hydraulic part

Finally after years of working with master cylinders and finding a cylinder that doesn't leak on me, this AC Delco model does what my 1999 Tahoe asked for. With semi-metallic brake pads and my new master cylinder, I now have the stopping power I need. I've had other cylinders leaking due to a possible gasket. Stay with OE!

Pros
  • Geometric tolerance ensures housing and plastic reservoir match for a snug fit
Cons
  • Something different
