Fixed my random stops

I have a low mileage 96 Light Saber. The mechanic installed a non-original mass air flow sensor and I always had a check engine light on and random idle readings. After some research I bought this OEM part and the problems went away, including the check engine light, after about 10 miles. OEM is the ticket!

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Not sure

Ensured the Check Engine light and MAF DTC came on soon.

Cared about checking the engine, the light is coming soon. I tried cleaning the old sensor but it didn't work so I had to spend money and replace it. I've learned the hard way that it's worth going OEM for sensors, not unbranded or generic. Came in a box marked Made in Japan.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Speed

my car runs like new again

my supercharged gtp 3800 has been misbehaving, revs are jumping up and down and getting crappy mpg. I scanned the check engine light using my Android phone and a $20 ObII adapter (also bought here on Amazon) and got the code for this part. The mass air flow sensor changed it myself (I have practically no experience, but it was so easy that a child can do it, just needs a screwdriver with a torx bit, which can be bought at any hardware store (Autozone plagiarism)

Pros
  • great price
Cons
  • without automatic

Works great as expected

My '97 LeSabre didn't start well and I thought it was the mass airflow sensor. Cleaning didn't help. I placed my order through Revain and it arrived in three days. I cleaned it with a spray, put it in and everything was fine again. Re-Mans and the aftermarket seem to be hit or miss these days, so there's nothing quite like a brand new OEM part that's guaranteed to work. Now the car starts like a whip and drives well. And if you can wait for shipping, save money on retailer's markup. Also, new…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Very happy with MAF sensor OEM

The original MAF sensor (200,000+ miles) tripped the check engine light and caused the engine to overshoot slightly at start. Other than that it worked fine. I bought and installed a mass air flow meter from a well known auto parts store with a lifetime warranty. When idling, the engine hummed so loudly that it stopped even before the gear was engaged. The check engine light did not come on. Returned it and went to another competitor aftermarket store and bought another MAF sensor with lifetime

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some minor issues

The critical part will be fine.

I installed this OEM part in my 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT and it cured problems with rough idling, hard starting, stalling and poor mileage. Don't waste your money on cheaper remanufactured sensors or MAF sensors from other manufacturers. They are short lived. If you're wondering if your mass air flow sensor is faulty, give it a gentle tap with the handle of a screwdriver and if the idle changes, you probably need a new one. As a final test, I unplugged the electrical connector from mine and…
