I bought this to replace mine (120,000 miles) which had an intermittent whining noise from the bearings. It arrived in a battered ACDelco box and the desiccant pack they had included to absorb moisture ruptured, allowing the desiccant balls to enter the alternator. I had to shake it to get all the silica gel balls out of the device. You'd think they could box it up securely so it wouldn't roll around and rip the cardboard and blow up the desiccant. Fits and works perfectly. My old one only put out about 13.6v and the new one 14.2v. My local NAPA charged $170 for a REMAN and in the past I've had bad luck with a REMAN that lasted less than a year and then they wanted over $300 for a NEW . There were problems with power surges. Suddenly it drops to about 10 volts. The local auto parts store said my alternator was still working.
