Doesn't hold up well for parts

Bought a year ago for my Tahoe 02, they've been fine to date, the right damper just broke, I've never seen that, no off-road before or rough driving. Very disappointed dear AC Delco but it didn't last long.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Served exactly one year

I was really hoping they would work since they are available. They have to be NOS or something because they've become extremely stiff and don't absorb shock. My Z71 Tahoe shook and shook with every bump. Very disappointed to have to do this work again a year later.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

Do not buy! Suitable for spare parts

Too bad I can't give a star. These were the factory shocks on my Tahoe. This kit lasted 6 months and 6,500 miles before one of the shocks died completely and all the oil came out through the wiper seal. The other three shock absorbers are very soft. I'm not sure if they changed manufacturers or what, but it's bullshit. Do not buy. Get the Bilstein 5100, a much nicer damper at a lower price.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Both rear shocks broke during my trip to Montana. She.

Both rear shock absorbers broke during my trip to Montana. They were installed at a local Chevy body shop two weeks ago. The inner steel rods bent and broke in half on both rear pads! How can this happen? I've been on rough roads but haven't hit anything or damaged any part of my Tahoe. I am assuming these shocks are old, have been in stock for years and are of poor quality. DO NOT BUY THESE shock absorbers!

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Available in black only

Correct OE replacement, only bushing missing

Factory return on my 150,000 mile Tahoe which still had the original shocks. Beautiful and durable for the right truck feel without chattering your teeth on a washboard or rough road. For some reason they don't come with a top hub so I ordered the Energy Suspension 9.8145R hubs which were perfect to replace the top hub - I have a few spares that are really useless but at least they were cheap , so I don't. Don't worry about it too much.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket
