1996 Cadillac Deville, broken ignition wire.

About as expected. Got the key that came with this ignition along with the original key from a GM dealer. Started well. I had to cut the wires differently to go through the pillar. I had to weld the old one from underneath after tearing off the connector. But in the end the problem was fixed.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Poor repairability

This switch is common in Replacement Parts

The fit and function of this switch is fine. It works like new with the cheap key they send with the cylinder. However, when I received the key with a security tray cut out for it (of course I didn't have an uncut dealer key in my hands at the moment after fitting it) it didn't go in the slot. I think the problem is that the gap is too narrow. I even ground down the key ball after discovering the system was bypassed, no difference. It won't go far enough. Luckily, Revane did everything right.
