My Pontiac G6 '07 started giving an engine check signal indicating a problem with the fuel pump/tank pressure. We had had a new GM fuel pump installed by the dealer a few days prior as the pump was diagnosed as low pressure. After installing this cover and a few days later, the check engine light came on again. It seems that this cover often needs to be tightened. I ordered a Stant 10841 gas cap and it was tighter on the first try. will give an update if the engine check problem persists.

Sometimes the check engine light comes on when the gas cap is not properly closed. It can also happen when the car is older. Mine was and I could see mold/dirt on the sealing surface. This new cover was easy to install. If you can't do that, you probably shouldn't be driving a two-ton car that's moving at 65 miles per hour. How long it will take?
