Great OEM part! - Oil Filter and Accessories

Great OEM replacement for my 13 year old Equinox. Local parts dealers sold the filter for just under the price. You will also receive a filter, an O-ring and a plastic cap! I kept the old factory plastic cap in case something happened (you never know). For my low spec cars, I prefer to stay as close to the OEM as possible, which is ideal (check the part numbers on the Delco website to make sure you get what you need).

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

Hengst filter element inside!

I like to have one of these complete filter sets with me in case my plastic breaks for some reason. This is the perfect filter for your 2.2 EcoTec engine. I also only replace the entire assembly every year (20-25k miles) to avoid the problem of plastic cracking from heating and cooling. Also worth mentioning for those interested in oil filters are the paper elements they contain, Hengst-Filter, a renowned filter manufacturer.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Useless features

The fact is that they sell the filter cap together with the filter.

As the name suggests, the fact that they have to sell the filter cap with the filter doesn't bode well. They break very easily when loosened or tightened, and during operation, oil leaks and splatters everywhere. You either need to make the cap thicker (especially near where the hex head joins the cap body) and use a stronger material, or just make a filter cap out of aluminum. The cap should not be replaced with every oil change.

  • Great for a small home

Better Than - Oil Filter and Accessories

The (ACDelco) is better than what Mahle offers. The tip that fits into the filter canister is significantly stronger and is a German Hengst filter designed/licensed in the USA, not by Mahle India. Disappointed that the Mahle filter tip breaks off when removed from the engine. (twice) I've changed the oil on dozens of cars in 50 years. small trash. Do it yourself somehow. You've been warned. My family has two cars, Chevy Equinox, Chevy Trailblazer, Pontiac G8 GT and Chevy Impala SS. Your…

thread problem. Case won't install

Installation failed. After only two turns, the threads tangled and wouldn't go any further without using excessive force with the wrench. Was concerned that the filter housing could crack/break or bind and get stuck. After removing and visually inspecting the threads and after several attempts to reinstall them correctly, I gave up, removed the new filter, installed the new filter into the old housing and installed it with ease to complete the job. Would return to Revain but car ran out of oil…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not sure

Great replacement, highly recommend if you have an incompetent grease monkey changing oil. It's easy to see that your "oil filter" cap has been removed with pliers. Just feel the corners of the 1 1/4" plastic hex head on the filter housing. Makes you wonder if the right oil was used? A simple vacuum ejector can pay for itself with just two additions to labor and parts on an oil change .And the only thing I recommend that you do on your first oil change is to install a new drain plug with a new…
