Description of Adafruit GPIO Stacking Header ADA2223

Connect your own PCB to a Raspberry Pi B+ and stack on top with this normal-height female header with extra long pins. The female header part is about 8.5mm tall, good for small HATs that do not to clear the USB/Ethernet jacks. This header has extra long 10mm pins, compared with our plain version which is the same base height but has 3mm header pins instead. With 10mm you can have a HAT that has extra pins to stack another HAT on top!

Great for stacking!

I recently purchased a stacking header for my single board computer and I am extremely pleased with the results... As a result of USING this product I found that it allowed me to easily stack multiple add-ons on my board, saving valuable space. The header was easy to install and provided a secure and sturdy connection. The only con I experienced was that it did increase the height of my board slightly, but the added functionality and versatility made it well worth it..

Pros
  • Allows for easy stacking of multiple add-on boards on a Raspberry Pi.
Cons
  • May require soldering skills to properly install.

Correct name/number/description, wrong picture.

What to look out for. When I bought this item the picture was not ADA2223 but ADA1112 which is the 2x13 connector I really wanted. I can of course cut this 2x20 but it doesn't come with the spacers that the 1112 has. I actually have two Pi Zeros that need headers, so I'm just using that with another project. This is typical Adafruit quality, meaning worth buying/keeping.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Some disadvantages
