Description of Adafruit Si7021 Temperature Humidity Breakout

± 3% relative humidity measurements with a range of 0–80% RH. ±0.4 °C temperature accuracy at a range of -10 to +85 °C. Great for all of your environmental sensing projects. It uses I2C for data transfer so it works with a wide range of microcontrollers.

Very accurate and easy to use.

At first the reading seemed too high, but when I placed the sensor away from the rest of the circuit I found that it was very accurate compared to calibrated lab devices. Humidity certainly isn't as accurate, but it's a lot better than most devices used in consumer products. I like the built in level conversion from 5 volts to 3.3 volts. Saves me space on my board. Pictured is my completed project. The top row is the time, the middle row is the temperature and humidity, and the bottom row is…

Great temperature and humidity sensor

I have purchased many temperature sensors over the years and this is probably the most reliable of them all. I needed a good humidity sensor that I could put in my dry box where I keep my 3D printing filaments. I wrote a simple program for my ESP to act as a web server so I can easily get readings from anywhere I have internet access. I'll probably write new code to transfer data to a cloud hosting service when I find the time. But in general this sensor is very accurate and fast, just what I…

  • Heavy duty

This thing is MUCH better than the DHT11

Worth the money if you really care about temperature and humidity. I used the DHT11 for our chick incubator and typically had to add up to 20 to each DHT11 humidity reading to get it accurate (compared to two external standalone temp/humidity sensors). . I got this Si7021, ran the example code from Adafruit and it immediately showed exactly the same temperature and relative humidity as my Nest controller on the wall. Currently, it is used in the incubator very reliably, quickly and accurately…

Easy to use Good for computer components

The pins are a little difficult to insert at first time. The sensor seems to be accurate and very easy to program with Python. The libraries were a bit confusing but I managed to get them working for my project.

Pros
  • High quality construction
Cons
  • For old

Great Sensor - Computer Components

This I2C work is very simple and reliable. Worked on 1st try, no resistors needed. I recommend this over most other options.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Definitely Bad Product

Super fast and easy to use with Temperature/Humidity Pi

I have a Pi that works 24/7 and controls the lights in the house and I've always wanted to measure the temperature/humidity in the house so I have I decided one of these. Using the instructions on the Adafruit website, I was able to get it up and running in about 10 minutes. I connected it to SNMP for remote reading and now indoor temperature and humidity in the house are being recorded with Cacti. As with any project, this would require adding an existing system to really use the data…
