I love these Timber Wolf blades. I've been using them since 2017 and have never let me down. Always sharp, no problem with welds, always accurately tracked, and they'll last through even the toughest woods. These are the only ones I use on my 3962 WEN band saw when cutting bows for my longbows and other projects.
Cuts across the grain like butter, this is the best blade I have ever had. This is best done slowly and steadily, but this is true of all exotic hardwoods. I just sawed through a very nice mahogany recently and wow it just needs a bit of sanding. Other blades required a great deal of manual planing and grinding to be used as finials.
The blade appeared to be of good quality, but the spot where the tape is welded is not smooth or properly aligned, resulting in an audible thud every time the blade goes through the guides. Adjusting the guides far enough to stop the sound will result in poor incision tracking. It can be used, but needs better welding quality control.
I've decided to try a more expensive bandsaw blade to see if it performs better than a cheaper one. I can't make up my mind yet, but I think the Timber Wolf blade is probably made of better quality steel with better heat treatment. I need more time to use this product for a proper review. I hope for the price it's worth it.
Reviews on this product are mixed so I was hesitant to purchase. The biggest problem I read was that the welded part of the blade wasn't straight and caused problems after use. This significantly shortens the life of the blade. Unfortunately, I had the same problem, but was able to quickly fix it with a grinder. A little disappointing given the high price, but it also cuts 100x better than my standard Wen and Bosch blades. Easily cuts through 8/4 roughness. If they could fix their problem, it…
My band saw did not work for some time because I could not set it up properly for good use even with other new saw blades. I've had my eye on this for a while but just never jumped on it, which in hindsight is ridiculous considering how many times I've casually spent $30. I finally "bite the bullet" the other day and got this and I couldn't be happier, this saw blade along with a properly adjusted bandsaw is unstoppable. I almost didn't realize how limited I was from not being able to use this…
I bought this blade for my 3962 WEN which was recommended by the owner of WEN for resawing. The blade is fairly narrow at the joint and not as flat as the rest of the band, giving a noticeable bounce with every twist along the guides. I spent half an hour setting up a WEN saw for this blade, which I can successfully saw through a thin slice of 1/8" hardwood without walking. Comments about bad use of the blade, I won't ruin it with grinds and just have to live with the stigma.
I bought this from the store for my band saw. It didn't move and kept being jerked off the wheels. I returned it. Bought another one from SS and it works perfectly. July 19, 2020 ***UPDATE*** I recently purchased a pair of these blades directly from the manufacturer. Less money and they worked great. The one I ordered from Revain and returned was not in the original packaging leading me to believe it was defective, resold on Revain and sent to me. Now I will buy from the manufacturer. Upgraded…
Blade cuts great and fits except. When I cut a piece about 2 cm thick, it's quiet and cuts well. When I cut a thicker piece, there is a noticeable "pop" with every revolution of the blade. I suspect it is a welded joint. The joint is very smooth on one side but has a slight roughness on the other side. All my other much cheaper blades are very quiet. I have a factory blade from WEN and Bosch blades. This is my first low tooth blade got great reviews on how to cut thicker work. My saw can cut up
