Won't charge my Garmin

Firstly I don't know why Revain said it was given to me, I just got home it was left outside my door, secondly it won't charge my Garman, it is incompatible as it is

Works with GPS for out-of-car trip planning.

Only used once so far, worked with my Garmin device. I wanted a way to power the GPS for off-vehicle trip planning. The computer's USB port typically supplies 0.5 amps and only puts the GPS into mass storage mode for updating maps and browsing files. The adapter allows me to plan a trip outside of the car as it has a 1.0A output.

Charge your Garmin from anywhere

Stuck in Europe last year when our rented car's cigarette lighter didn't work rendering the Garmin provided to us unusable as it didn't come with a power cord. In order for us to charge from the hotel room outlet, only a car charger cable and plug were available and could not be used. It has a detachable USB cable on one end and a Garmin connector on the other, so in the previous case it would have been a lifesaver. The ideal solution.

This may conflict with Garmin somehow not recognizing it as a power source.

Although this unit connects to my Garmin, it doesn't feel like Garmin's preferred device, gives an audible and visual charging warning while shutting down most Garmin programs. Perhaps something else is safe here, as it has a generic USB plug for the device and standard home socket pins for power. Notification was not continued.
