This is a really good option for adding an NVME drive to an existing system that doesn't already have an empty slot. It is worth noting that NVME drives are usually connected to PCIe x4 (4 lanes) and this adapter supports PCIe3 (version #3). Version 4 drives should work and could even work on PCIe4 depending on the interfaces, it's basically a simple device/channel card. It also means that depending on where you connect to the motherboard, you may have dedicated, shared, or even reduced…

Very beautiful. Start in two minutes.

I was very satisfied. It looks and feels like a reputable product. I put my Crucial P2 on top, installed a heatsink (which I don't think is really necessary, but whatever), and taped it in place. I walked in, recognized it immediately (FreeBSD). As other reviewers say, I think the rubber bands will become brittle and break over time, but oh well. Bind it if necessary. Or just remove the heatsink if this happens. Note, however, that mine didn't come with slot brackets. Some of the pictures show…

worth your money. Makes motherboards without NVME much faster.

This device changes everything for some of us. I'm still using my 4th Gen Intel i7-4790K and Z97 motherboard. This means my computer does not support NVME storage. To increase speed, I used two SSDs in a striped RAID. It showed increased speed in testing, but not by much in the real world. Revain had a Pioneer (APS-SE20Q-1T) for sale and with this M.2 NVME adapter the speed was 2-3 times faster than two RAID drives. Then why only 4 stars. The manufacturer has to add the actual speed that this…

I'm paranoid about the early release of M.2 NVME SSD, so I'm looking for a heatsink as well as a capacitor for surge protection on the adapter. It comes with a heatsink, but I don't want to use this x16 card without a capacitor. I ordered a x4 card and it has a capacitor, but the bracket was large and didn't include the low profile bracket I need. As a result I have used a x4 card without a bracket which can loosen over time. The x16 card has a bent end and more pins that I'm not afraid will…
