Beyond praise! The product definitely deserves your attention.

I hope the story described in the shortcomings will not repeat itself and this was a single factory formatting glitch. Has pros: 1. Actual write speed (displayed in Win7 usb 3.0 while copying files to a flash drive) from 30 to 50 Mb/s depending on the file size. I usually showed about 45 mb / s. 2. There is a keychain hole. 3. The retractable mechanism works perfectly, nothing dangles, does not creak. 4. In the extended state, the connector itself does not move back in until you press the…

Claimed speed, good value for money

This ADATA DashDrive may not be the fastest USB 3.0 drive, but according to speed tests using SpeedOut 0.5 and Check Flash 1.16, it's as fast as advertised (when connected to a USB 3.0 port): Read/Write 41.52/18.41 (MB/s) DashDrive's read speed drops significantly when plugged into a USB 2.0 port, but write speed remains about the same: read/write25. 97 / 17.32 (MB/s) The numbers stayed the same when I copied over 2GB JPG files to DashDrive. The body is made entirely of plastic, so it's not as…

I hold my breath

I ordered and received two of these. I used 4 gigs of one to save a large installer. After a few hours I decided to use another flash drive for it. When copying to the second drive, my copy no longer pointed to invalid media. Then Win10 started asking me if I want to format the drive. I couldn't get the drive to work. I couldn't format it. I decided to plug in the first drive and make sure the data was still there. Akk, I ran into the same problem almost immediately. I went to the ADATA website

Great flash drive for the price but has caveats

First of all I don't want this review to be all about what's wrong with this flash drive so I'll start with the positives aspects. For the price, this flash drive works well, very well. While I haven't personally delivered read and write speeds like other reviewers, this flash drive is more than capable of everyday use for general tasks. Well, one disappointing aspect of this flash drive is that for some weird reason it doesn't support booting from USB. I've tried booting my computer from…

Little Learned Cookie

I bought this USB stick over two years ago because I needed a colour-coded USB stick with a retractable connector. It was cheap, fast enough for the capacity, and amazingly durable. The mechanics are still as good as they were on day one. The speed isn't fantastic, but it's not terrible - the real speed of writing is in the range of 20 MB / s, and reading - 70 MB / s. Given the capacity of 8 GB, this is quite normal. There are smaller USB sticks, there are faster USB sticks, but I haven't seen…

Dont Last Electronics

Was formatted in XFAT and I couldn't put files of required size on the drive. Reformatted to NTFS. If the USB2 ports are to be believed, I got a consistent read speed of 30MB/s when moving two 50G and 5G video files. The writing speed for files of the same size was almost the same. If there's such a thing as a tactile aesthetic, the slider really doesn't fit what I want. I would have preferred an easy slide back and forth with a sign of interaction at either end of the path other than stopping.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No performance

3 years or more, color matters

For the past 3 years I've been using Blue 32GB, Blue 64GB and Yellow 32GB to record TV (typically at 1.4GB/hr or around 0.5 GB / h). watch later and then delete. A total of over a thousand hours. I prefer drives with a status light, but bought an additional blue 64 GB for this purpose. I want to rate them separately: the blue 64GB drives seem to work better than the 64GB SanDisk drives, but I prefer the SanDisk 32GB drives over the ADATA 32GB drives. The yellow one seems to be having interface…

Ugly and not as compact as the competition, but reliable.

--- Good --- I use this drive on a USB 3.0 port to back up files from time to time. For this purpose it worked perfectly. --- Bad --- However, as you can see from the photos, this thing is freaking ugly. Besides, it's not so little; There are many other compact offerings on the market right now. --- Ugliness (which ironically doesn't mean this thing is ugly) --- When I bought it - back in 2014 - truly compact USB 3.0 drives were twice as expensive as ADATA DataDash 3.0 drives, but it's not more
