Purchased to align the drawers in the dining room sideboard and dresser. Advantages: very soft, drawers open and close much more quietly, dishes don't rattle. Cons: The felt is rolled so tight that as the material unrolls, there are lines or "veins" in the middle of the roll where the back of the head actually expands and you can see the back. I bought this insert for a small 3 drawer cabinet that I was building. I wanted the "wide" lining to fit 17 1/4" drawers. The first thing that struck me was how "soft" it is. The backing peels off easily and the adhesive isn't too tight aggressive so it's not too hard to reposition.I was able to smooth it out without wrinkles.There was no bad smell.As I only used this material to cover the bottom of the box I can't say how keeps it on a vertical surface.If I were to use this in a display or box

This is a quality product, too expensive but good quality, dense and velvety soft. The backing is easy to remove and the product doesn't stick to itself, making any job pretty easy. I lined all the drawers in my bedroom and dining room with this black product. Very happy with the results. It doesn't smell but made in China. I highly recommend this line of products.
