This rolling pin is way better than screw ring adjusters. The latter collected food debris in the screw/hole compartment, making it susceptible to mold and bacteria. It's very easy to clean and use, and the pen isn't heavy at all. And I can flip it horizontally to measure the thickness of the dough just in case. The only downside is that the rings are difficult to put on the pen. This is a slight inconvenience for easy cleaning.

When my rolling pin arrived the rubber rings had a bitter chemical smell. The silicone is supposed to be odorless so I was concerned that the rings were not silicone as advertised but I flame tested them and they burned to an inconsistent white ash flame which is typical of silicone so check that out regard. I will be cooking the rings to try and remove the smell and if that works I will update the rating to five stars

I got this rolling pin after finding out they existed. It was the nicest I could find. I'm impressed with the quality of the pen itself. Very well done. Rubber adjusters can be a bit difficult to put on or take off. But it's normal. The only thing I would change would be if it had larger spacers. For the production of biscuits and viscous products. Hello! This is the best rolling pin I've ever used in my life! It's long enough for rolling out dough quickly and easily, the lines on the needle make measuring so much easier, the rings do a fantastic job at precise gauges (a bit tricky to apply but you don't want them to slip off). They use a needle all the time so it's just a few extra seconds) and I have long nails - and this needle is big enough to keep them out of the dough but not too big.
