Expensive but very good quality.

This unit is a good weight and resembles a knob on a high end studio mixer. However, without instructions. You can press the button and it works like a mute button. If you press and hold it for about 6 seconds, the blue LED will go out and will not light up.

My Griffith became inoperable during the last Win 10 update

I like the functionality of Griffith and when it stopped working I found a replacement for AMZ and decided on this one. Works great and now I have WIN 10 compatibility which Griffith didn't have after WIN7. The ease of use of the real volume control versus finding a key on my keyboard is great. It's worth it.

That saved my sanity

I recently bought a fancy "pairing" keyboard/mouse where the volume and mute buttons were a combination - hold them down while you press them. When the call came in, I fiddled around to find the keyboard shortcut. This volume control is right on my desktop - click the volume and it turns off. By the way, I removed that damn Logitech K850 keyboard - I didn't like the key layout. But I kept the volume control - it's too easy to use.

A blown motherboard and a PCIE card later.

First of all, I may have a defective device. It was plugged into a USB port on my computer. Due to the static electricity inherent in the office, I received an electric shock when I touched it. The computer issued a USB disconnect notification, but it reappeared. The second time the computer made the same noise and then just shut down. Didn't turn back on. It turned out that the motherboard was burned out. Thinking it was a coincidence, I bought a new computer and this time connected it to a…

Great plug n play controls with Windows 10

I've been using the Griffin Technology controls since 2011 and with my last upgrade to my second Windows 10 computer the thing kept crashing and had to be disconnected and reconnected for it to work. It's a good replacement for it and 100% Windows 10 Ready. The black box feels heavy and is made of metal with rubber feet that keep it securely in place. A standard USB to mini USB cable is included. The aluminum handle is comfortable to hold and a faint click can be heard about every 5 degrees of…

  • So far so good

Just received it and hooked it up, works great. I wish they had instructions in English. Beyond the basics of volume control and muting. You can put the controller in high speed mode by pressing the button 6 times. This allows the controller to switch from 0 to 100% in one revolution. You can also put it in night mode by holding the button for 8 seconds. This keeps the LED on all the time, but at about 50% intensity. If you change the volume, it lights up again at 100%. I took the board out of…

Overpriced and potentially dangerous

I ordered two of these USB volume controls for a project. Out of the box they looked decent, although one rattled slightly. I opened up the case to see what might be loose and found two strips of self-adhesive wheel weights inside, one of which was loose and pressed against the (exposed) backside of the circuit board. There was no protection, not even a piece of cardboard between the weights and the board. The unfortunate reviewer who lost his motherboard and PCI-E USB card was likely the…
