🔥 AEM 21-772C Cold Air Intake System: Enhancing Performance and Efficiency Review

Works fine on my 2016 Impreza. Adds a nice tone when accelerating but is still pretty quiet when driving. I notice a slight improvement in mpg. The installation does not take much time. In general I like it.

Works great. Looks great and sounds great. A word of advice: to make filter installation a million times easier, secure the filter at the inlet end with a metal engine bay divider at the inlet, but do not screw into place yet. Much easier than unclipping the plastic under the car and getting to the filter. Fits tight but fits.

Works very well even without tuning. I did the Tsudo headers and SP2 exhaust at the same time, so without the OpenPort 2.0 setup my MY 14 2.0 Base Impreza actually runs a bit fat, but I imagine if you just used that you would actually do something with it worse run WOT. Definitely recommend this to anyone trying to get that extra bit out of the FB20 without having to use forced induction. I'm hoping that if I switch to forced induction in the future I'll still be able to use that air intake.

The dimensions were too small to fit. The inlet pipe was not quite suitable for connection to the filter box; I had to shorten it by bending my elbow to connect it to the filter hole. the screw connection that attached the tube to the top of the box was too short; I was able to find a thread with all the screws and two nuts to attach the pipe to the top of the airbox. Easy DIY installation. I haven't tested my car since I installed it, but it seems to have increased slightly at higher RPM. Maybe it's because I'm giving it more throttle now because I like hearing the intake actually turn on, not sure. I think it also boosts MPG a bit, but I haven't run any tests myself to know anything about it for sure. I just installed this air intake on my 2013 Subaru Impreza Premium 5 speed and overall I'm happy with its performance saving me money on pump and bonus ponies . I have installed many air intakes over the years and I have to say this is one of the worst air intakes I have ever dealt with. The tube was about 4 inches long to fit the hole in the bracket. I had to cut a larger hole in the bracket to get the pipe even closer to the fitting. All access to the air cleaner is through the underside of the front panel. The fender is also a PITA. I installed this on my 2012 Subaru Impreza Sport Hatchback. Now that it's installed, I've noticed a significant power boost around 4,000 rpm when combined with my Catback and Borla exhaust. the overall tone is also very pleasant with the right rumble under acceleration.
