too heavy, bulky on my review.

jaws were so much wider and heavier than the one I had misplaced (which I finally found again, and will be back to using.) Pipe Cutters.

Pros
  • Pipe Cutters
Cons
  • Requires a steady hand to make a straight cut

My Favorite For Happy Ends!

I am using (and abusing) PVC pipe cutters for all sort of things. Beside that PVC pipes are my favorite building material to build quick rigs, frames for sun shades, water irrigation, and simple structures, cutters also come in handy for tubing and all sorts of softer, round materials. But this one is special! The AIRAJ PVC cutter is the one I use exclusively for PRECISE cuts. None of my other cutters produce such straight and good looking cuts like this one. It must be the design and the angle…

Pros
  • Durable Components: The high resilience spring drive and sharp SK5 stainless steel blade are made to last, ensuring that this pipe cutter can stand up to the demands of heavy use over time. This means you can rely on it to deliver consistent results, even when working on tough materials
Cons
  • Can cause friction burns on fingers during use

Would be good but….

These would be perfect except they cut extremely crooked. I make sure to keep the underside tight to the pipe so it doesnt turn or angle and the blade still goes so crooked when cutting that it doesnt even go through the slot on the other end of the tool. It actually hits the side of its own self. Useless

Pros
  • Perfect Use Feel
Cons
  • Doesn't work well on hard plastic materials

Sturdy tool in my review

Cutter is well made but it will not cut 1 1/2 " pipe as advertised. It would probably handle 1 1/4". I needed it for 1 1/2" so I didn't get to use it to see how well it holds up.

Pros
  • I like the ratcheting action on this tool. However, it didn't last me very long before the blade bent.
Cons
  • Blade can chip or break easily

Works great at a really good price

I don't have to cut PVC pipe very often and never had to cut a 2" pipe, but these worked great and did the trick for me. They seem very solid & easy to use.

Pros
  • cuts good.
Cons
  • Can crush pipe instead of making a clean cut

I'm no pro craftsman, but I do a lot of my own work on plumbing and electrical as I grew up on a farm where we had to and would consider myself an experienced DIY'er. I used this cutter twice on 1-1/4" CPVC (schedule 40). The first cut did ok - I noticed that the ratcheting mechanism was much more difficult to operate than a similar style cheap cutter for smaller CPVC I got at one of the big box stores. That being said, this cutter returned to the open position much easier. I bought this as the

Pros
  • Easy to use. Clean Cut for plastic pipes
Cons
  • Can cause hand fatigue with prolonged use

Will he wonky in my review

Does a fairly decent job but on 2" pvc some cuts were not completely straight. I could live with a bit off but had to redo about 25% of the cuts. Only a DIYer if a pro I would spend more money and get a better unit

Pros
  • Versatile Capability: The AIRAJ PVC Pipe Cutter boasts the ability to cut a wide range of plastic tubing materials with ease, including PEX, PVC, and PPR. This makes it an ideal tool for both home repair projects and professional plumbing work
Cons
  • Not compatible with certain types of fittings

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Better off with a hacksaw

This review is for the larger, 2 1/2" capacity cutter. No matter how hard I tried, could net get this to cut straight. The far end of the blade seems to deflect, making a cut that ends up being far from perpendicular. THe part of the blade that is closer to the handle is thicker and cuts fairly straight, however, to complete the cut, since the far end has cut at an angle and the near end has cut straight, it needs to snap off to finish, leaving a rough and jagged end. I ended up needing to sand

Pros
  • Easy One-handed Operation
Cons
  • Can cause unwanted vibrations during use

Just average. on my review.

It will get you out of the jam, but don't expect any straight cuts out of it! Specifically purchased for 2" PBC, it was just average. The blade wobbles during the cut.

Pros
  • Makes quick work of cutting PVC pipes and is superior to the Husky version I previously purchased at HD.
Cons
  • Difficult to see where the blade will cut the pipe

Cuts pvc pretty easily

Been a while since I've had to buy one of these--I see the manufacturers have finally realized that having a point on the blade cuts down on crushing rather than cutting the pipe. Very happy so far using it to repair the extensive damage done to our sprinkler system during our pool installation.

Pros
  • No written review
Cons
  • Not suitable for cutting thick-walled pipes

Worst cutters I've ever used

I saw the reviews and said why not.I guess I'm one of the not so lucky ones, first cut of the day was uneven as hell, it sounds like some people get good blades and some get bad blades, well if they can't guarantee you'll get a good blade they should send you out a extra blade so I guess buy at your own risk and hope you don't get screwed like I did, good luck!

Pros
  • I really liked this , used 2 times and I love it
Cons
  • Can cause pipe to warp during cutting

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Doesn't cut straight

This item ALWAYS gets misaligned while making a cut and cuts at an odd angle. I've tried both going fast and going slow but I always get jagged or screwed up cuts.It was easier to use, but it has very little precision when being used.

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • Plastic grips can crack or break after extended use

Works good and not expensive

I used it to install new water line in the garage and sprinkler system and it was cutting great all the time, blades are sharp and easy to use.

Pros
  • ‎1-1/4 pvc pipe cutter
Cons
  • Not suitable for cutting non-plastic pipes

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It cuts but the blade deflects on larger pipe sizes

This works OK, and the pointed blade makes it pierce nicely, but on 1.5 inch PVC I found that the cuts were all slanted because the blade deflects as it cuts. Had to buy a different brand which doesn't have that particular problem, although it didn't have the angled blade.

Pros
  • very Nic product and easy to use
Cons
  • Blade can become misaligned, causing uneven cuts

Where has this been all my life.

I have always used a hacksaw to cut pvc pipe. With a hacksaw, it is difficult to get a good cut in the field, especially when cutting short pieces. Then you need to smooth the cut ends with a cloth or glove to get all the burrs off. This tool makes cutting pvc pipe so easy, and the cuts are uniform (and perpendicular to the length of the pipe if you are careful). No burrs, nice and smooth every time. So glad I discovered this tool.

Pros
  • ‎Qingdao Yi Gou Hardware Tools Co., Ltd.
Cons
  • Not suitable for cutting precise angles

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Better then expected

Extremely sturdy and well made. Cuts through 2" sched 40 with no effort at all. I wish it had some way to hold the pipe straight while cutting. The pipe tends to shift and you get an angled cut.

Pros
  • Powerful Cutting Ability
Cons
  • Doesn't work well on rigid pipes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Unlike my GETUHAND brand

Cheaper than another brand I bought but these have worked flawlessly on poly air lines for the semi truck. The other brand mentioned above didnt work out of the box. I’ll be getting another one of these for the house.

Pros
  • Is it use cuts PVC very easily? All in all a very good tool and reasonable value for the money.
Cons
  • Blade can get stuck on certain types of plastic

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Smaller diameter pipe is somewhat difficult with these

After a few uses the blade has dulled and cutting 1" pvc irrigation pipe resulted in quite a bit of crushing before the blade sliced through.Maybe most of the ratings are for the larger 2" + pvc pipe, but at the small diameters they are a bit clunky. I missed the return window or they would've gone back.

Pros
  • well made, works perfectly
Cons
  • Can be challenging to cut straight lines

PVC Pipe cutter tool

Used this tool to cut pvc pipe for an automated sprinkler system install. Works great and made the job easy. Pretty heavy duty and should last a long time. Ratchet system works well.

Pros
  • Very convenient for cutting a variety of sizes up to 2-1/2" PVC.
Cons
  • Plastic grips can slip during use

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Easy to cut large pipe, but can cut crooked.

I bought these because I was installing an irrigation system. I have a very long water line that is 2" in diameter so I needed these large cutters to tap into this line. The good aspect of these is they cut through Schedule 40 pipe like butter. They really make it easy. The big downside is they cut large pipe crooked. Pipe that is 1" or less got cut nice and straight, but when I made the cuts on 2" pipe, I routinely ended up with slanted cuts no matter how hard I tried to keep it cutting…

Pros
  • ‎7.2 ounces
Cons
  • Not as efficient as other cutting tools on the market
