So far so good: Router

: (1 month later) works well with Airlink PCI card, HP laptop and Dell laptop. using the atheors, Broadcom and Intel Centrino chipsets respectively. Didn't have to reboot the router, but the cable modem still twitches under heavy P2P load. I found that if I restrict p2p a little, then everything is fine. I would change my rating to 4 stars but Amazon doesn't seem to allow that. --------------- I had a D-Link DI-624 Extreme 108Mbps router that dropped my wireless connection when it wasโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • The list is going to be long. Update

Good speed, good range.

I played around a bit when I first set up this router. Mainly due to the limitations of laptops connecting to it wirelessly. Once I sort out the errors, the thing works fine. I have a stable signal throughout the three story house and outside. The security features were easy to set up and my connection speed is good. I originally bought this router for $90, but the price has come down significantly since then. Coming from IT, I have found that their support team is not the most knowledgeable Iโ€ฆ

Great WiFi Router

I bought this $40 MIMO router a few weeks ago. It's packed with features and works like a charm. Very strong signal throughout my house. I like the interface and features more than Linksys. The signal strength is also much better than Linksys.

Death after 1 1/2 years

I bought this router and the WLAN PCI card that went with it about 1 1/2 years ago. I could never get the wireless PCI card to register with this router even though it was able to find the neighbor's signal across the street. I bought a MacBook about 8 months ago and was able to get a signal on it. But after a few months, the signal either turned off or disappeared. I thought it was Mac airport. He finally died last week. I tried resetting it and was only able to register wired connections, but

After updating the firmware everything was fine.

I had communication problems for a month and finally I updated the firmware. It has been working for a year and a half, not a single failure since the update. Strong signal throughout the house.

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • I have no complaints about it, everything is fine

Airlink MIMIO works well in harsh environments

This Airlink wireless MIMO router was installed in a ranch with multiple single-tier and dual-tier structures. While it would be an exaggeration to say that it maintained a usable signal at 1250 feet, it performed well. It was installed in a second floor office and could easily communicate with a ground floor building 200 feet away. Installation and configuration was easy, and it worked well, maintaining an internet connection via satellite. The price was great for the functionality.

Good for the price - Router

In short I would recommend a better router for a little more. Pros: The web interface is fairly easy to use and has a good wireless range. Cons: Couldn't get full downlink speed (only 1/2) compared to my old Linksys 4-port non-wireless router (tried tech support, disabled firewall, etc.), support was probably as useful as most others (it still couldn't solve the speed problem), the first router died in less than a day (this is the second), the instructions are useless. If I had to do it againโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • No instructions

works as advertised

I bought this online. It came with a category 5 cable and a CD. I got it up and running in about an hour, and I'm no expert at all. It works best when set to 802.11b, which my laptop says is 54Mbps. also a large assortment. And it was the cheapest I could find.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
