Excellent original quality brakes!

You can't go wrong with ADVICS or Akebono brakes. ADVICS didn't have them for my application, so I chose them. So far they are great as expected. Installation went without problems.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Gets angry

Really good pads, great customer service

These pads are NOT meant to squeak, but they take a few thousand miles to break in a new set of rotors and settle down. Other than that, they seem to be working fine. EDIT: I called the manufacturer and they sent a new set of pads. Replacement pads are quiet. Maybe it was the coating on the new rotors that made the first set of pads squeak.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some problems

Excellent brakes for Ford Focus Z3 2005

Perfect for Ford Focus Z3. I adjusted and felt great. Stopping power was better than the original pads and some of the parts I used. Quiet and less dust. My client was very happy with how her fractures felt. These pads have three clips that can be attached to the caliper instead of two. It's a bit harder to get all three in the hole at once, but the pillow's fit feels a lot better. That should give less chatter and better stopping power.

Pros
  • Solid surface
Cons
  • So-so

Akebono Ceramic Pads for Mazda 3

I installed these on my 2008 Mazda 3 and drove them a few hundred miles. They are quiet and seem to work as expected. They were not easy to assemble as the spring clips were originally too wide. I had to bend them with locks before I could mount the inner ones. I thought I was doing something wrong then I put one of the old ones back in and they snapped into place. The price was good and I expect them to last a long time and there shouldn't be any dust from them.

Pros
  • Finished
Cons
  • Functionality

Fantastic pads to match the braking system

I've never made my own brakes but Scotty Kilmer kept clogging them up. I've done my research and confirmed that these are excellent pads. I installed them on my 2010 Mazda 3 and bought Autozone Duralast Gold brake discs, no problems installing them. These pads work much better than the cheaper pads I've used in the past. I recommend buying anti-rattle clamps from the factory so swap them out along with the pads/rotors. Note: Old clamps can break and it will be REALLY annoying when you're done…

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Operating speed

You get what you pay for.

I first bought a set of these Akebono brake pads for my 2012 Ford Focus on May 2nd 2015, the car was 68k and I replaced the original pads. On August 4th 2020 I ordered my second set of pads for this car which is now priced at 119,000. Buy once, cry once. These pads were on brutal commutes of over 45 miles, one of which traveled through the Northeast and daily traffic. . Don't squeak, fade or leave brake dust on the wallpaper as long as Akebono continues to make them at this level of quality. I…

Pros

  • Big and bulky

Solid low dust brake

Installed these on new StopTech slotted brake discs on my 2013 Ford Focus. They have been properly lapped and have driven about 4000 miles. My daily commute consists of uphill and downhill driving, including a mile of steep, windy, and downhill freeways. These pads brake linearly, and while they don't have the hard initial bite of the semi-metal pads, which I prefer, once warmed up, they bite hard and confidently. Virtually no dust which is great for my alloy wheels. Considering the price…

great pads good for brake pads

I installed them on a 2006 Mazda5 in May 2016 and am very happy with the pads. Cranked the rotors, drained the brake fluid and run it in properly (repeated semi-hard stops to heat it up and prevent it from fully settling on the rotor). It's December 2018 and they still hold up like new and have more power, no pulsing, no noise, no noticeable brake dust. I think the key to brakes is getting them broken in properly. What causes the "deformed rotor" pulsation sensation is actually the heating up…

Pros
  • nice to use
Cons
  • old

Edit: After 2 or 3 months this was one of the worst purchases I have ever made. Thank GOD I didn't crash the car after installing it. The drop in stopping power after less than 1000 miles is so great that I went to a mechanic who checked the brakes and found poorly made pads to be the culprit. The guarantee IS ACTIVE after 30 days, well before any real problems arise, so let me repeat again: NEVER BUY THESE PADS! You can get the ones that were badly made, just like me. BTW I installed them…

Pros
  • also understandable for old people
Cons
  • Some little things
