Premium spare parts

As an ASE technician I want quality and Akebono means premium quality. I use it on all my clients' cars and on my own cars when applicable!

Pros

Cons
  • Functionality

Quiet brake noise - brake pads

Akebono brake pads are the only brake pads that don't squeak and last over 20k on my 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan. A bit pricey but worth the cost. Have tried many other brands with no success.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Can't remember

Brake Pads Approved by Mechanic Schwager

Great for our 2010 Chrysler Town & Country MPV. Looks good and brakes smoothly. My brother in law is a mechanic and when he saw that I bought them for our minivan he said it was a very good buy and that the Akebono brake pads are among the best.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Without Automatic Transmission

Akebono brake pads!

I recommend these brakes to others, they cost a little more than silent thermostops. This will be my next pick if you want to stick with quality and save a few bucks, but Akebono is a much better brake to buy to flip your rotors, put new ones on if your non-grooved rotors are fine , you can easily change the toppings. Do it yourself, there are only 2 screws. save your money

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons

Great brake pads! best braking system

I bought these for our 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan and am very satisfied: a set of metal clips and pad paste (again unlike the cheap ones) - very good braking performance (strong grip on cold, no noticeable fading under the harshest conditions I've tried) - quiet (well I used the paste that came with it) It's too early to say how they will wear out as it will probably take a couple of years (I usually need new ones after that pads about 35,000 km).

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Outdated

I have used Akebono brake pads on a variety of vehicles for many years and have never been disappointed. They reportedly lose braking power with ceramic pads, but I can't say I've ever noticed a difference between what was on the car and these. The nice touch is the very low amount of brake dust they produce and it's not dark brown or black like stock or cheaper pads. All of our vehicles have aluminum rims, so it is important to me to be able to easily clean them during the wash.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Front brake pad for my 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Well I've never bothered to write a review on these pads but now I will. The reason I only give these pads three stars is because of durability. It's been 1 year since I've installed them and they've been great in every way except the pads are worn down to 3mm. My Dodge Grand Caravan is very heavy in the front and tends to eat away at the brake pads. That's why I spent good money on ceramic brake pads. These front brake pads are quiet, provide excellent stopping power, but last 1 year less than

Performance as advertised, durability as expected

I bought these for my 2012 GrandCaravan in 2018. Also bought an ACT1612 rear suspension kit. At the same time, R1 Concepts Carbon Geomet rotors with perforations and slots are installed all around. And my wheels are custom 20 inches. I use this setup, I travel a lot from New Jersey to New York via GWB, so sometimes there is a lot of traffic (about 4 times a week on average), plus many other trips (even from New Jersey to Florida and back, once). ).For all this time there was no dust, no squeaks

Pros
  • Brilliantly finished
Cons
  • Fading
