DSYJ 550 Stainless Steel Paracord Fid, Shoelace, Sewing Needles (2x)

DSYJ 550 Stainless Steel Paracord Fid, Shoelace, Sewing Needle (2x) I purchased these lacing needles for paracord and some other more elastic bungee materials. This allows you to tuck the end of the cord, if it's less than a quarter inch in diameter, into the end and twist it to hold it through a small loop. Works well, and if needed, a bit of hot glue on the end of the cord will help keep it in place until you're done. I like it.

Essential for paracord projects

Essential for your paracord projects. 550 is simply screwed into the threaded end. The microcable can then simply be attached to the 550 piece screwed into this FID, eliminating the need for a second, smaller FID. When in doubt, buy such a matching pair or a set of 2-3 different sized feeds. Deal with it and you'll be glad you have the right feeds for many projects. As said, Microcord is light enough to melt up to 550. The tips are sharp enough but smooth enough that you don't have to worry…

Can be upgraded - lacing needles

I was a little surprised when I received these feeds as they are not the same as others I have had Used. Most feeds are very thin walled steel making it brittle, but also very narrow (relatively). These feeds are much thicker which sounds good on the surface, but you want ease of use from a feed, not durability. The thicker size makes the difference it's a bit harder to get them through the hole - not by much, but just enough for you to notice. This also means there's less room for paracord on…

Pros
  • For laces and laces 5/32" (4mm)
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Simple design works great for threading and making straps etc from paracord Saves me tons of time and frustration when working with 550 4mm paracord. Initially I was very disappointed when attaching the paracord. I've tried the cord on the needles several times with no success, the next day I take another piece of paracord and I have no problems. At first I thought I must have been tired and uncoordinated the first time, but eventually I realized I had two different sized paracords. The 554mm…
