This is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever bought. Here's why: 1. You'll need either a serial port (which hasn't been on a PC or laptop for over 10 years) or a USB adapter.2. Not easy to use, not easy to install. Came here looking for a replacement cable as the cable that came with it was slightly worn and thought I'd make a few comments. We had one of them who managed two castles for four years. Gathering traffic information through one of the castles is a trip to the castle and back to your computer, and updating the castle is a separate round trip. I had to go through the Data Communications Module 3 (DTM) configuration instructions several times to try to not only load lock data from a DL4 windows program for the DTM (no problem with them), but also so that I can get the DTM to load the data into the lock (no luck for them). DO NOT waste time calling Alarm Lock - they know nothing about support for THEIR own products and will put you through to your local sales representative.
