Classic by Alessi

Quality couldn't be better. Great whistling kettle. I've burned so many cauldrons that looked good but didn't whistle. It's a keeper!

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • No mold required

Not worth the money or advertising

Gave it to my daughter for Christmas. The lower part of the handle is made of plastic and is fused. Plastic on the kettle handle near the bottom? Why was it done this way? Definitely not worth the money. I want my money back. Please advise.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

That looks great. In about two months it turns out to be a two.

Looks great. It emits a two-tone whistle while cooking for about two months. But given the price, I was shocked at how bad the design was. Definitely for those who like to look good. The handle usually gets too hot to handle. The plastic sleeve covering the top-opening trigger will slip off and burn your fingers. As a result, the handle melted completely after about 2.5 years. Are you kidding me? If you just want to look at this thing, fine, but if you're hoping the functionality is as good as…

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are flaws

Doesn't work as advertised

This kettle has TWO resin tubes built into the two chrome steam outlet tubes of this kettle. This is the part of the spout that rises where the steam comes out. On my most ordinary stove, at full heat, they never make a sound! I could coat one and get the other to work and then coat the other, but at full boil they won't work. The kettle comes with two interchangeable tubes, one for each feed, so I swapped them both out in case I had trouble landing in the nozzles or tubes, no change. Detaching

Pros
  • Understandable even for the old one
Cons
  • Some little things

Yes, you need a really hot oven to keep both whistles stable. Yes, if your stove is too hot the plastic handle will melt. Pouring is inconvenient and you're more likely to spill on the countertop. Yes, it's all sealed and you can never clean the inside. But look at this! I bought a new line so the crazy train whistles can fill my kitchen! You can order a replacement plastic pen cover from Amazon, which isn't very easy to replace, but it's not very difficult either. There's not much you can do…

Pros
  • Pretty package
Cons
  • Can't remember
