Seatpost broke on first ride

I installed the seatpost and took a ride on a trail I had ridden for 30 years without incident. The seat post is crumpled after 30 minutes of riding. I've never had this before. Apparently the workmanship was so bad it was dangerous.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Not the best

High quality carbon fiber

Obviously lighter than my original alloy seatpost. Having to trim 5cm with a pipe cutter because it was longer than the original, I found that the quality of the carbon fiber material is excellent. I'm looking forward to the test drive.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Worth it - Seatposts

Would definitely buy these again. This seatpost gave me the height I needed while still looking very sleek with that carbon fiber look. The only small downside I have is that I find it a bit difficult to screw the seat onto it. The hex screw is in an awkward spot, so tightening it to the rack takes a lot longer than it should. Other than that, it's amazing.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Only available in black

I like the location of the front screw which requires .

I love the front bolt location, which requires a seat with an open slot in the center to get to. Great price and this replaces a zero offset bar that was 4 times the price but I have found this bar does not absorb shock nearly as well as more expensive bars. For the price, a great, beautiful contribution.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Insufficient clamp

Looks cool but the bracket mechanism is not strong enough to hold my seat in place. After each ride, my seat reclined to the limit against the road vibrations, making the ride awkward and uncomfortable. Under 4Nm of torque happened after a few miles. When tightened to 6Nm it relieved slightly, but that's on the limit of cracking carbon fiber. Still, it will hit the limit of the seat at the end of the 30-kilometer journey. I attached a picture: The front seat post is a product. You can see that…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Snap the carbon strut when riding on bumpy roads.

Installed the seatpost using carbon sealant and a torque wrench. On my second 9 mile trip. I was riding on bumpy roads, which is quite common in New York, and broke the seatpost halfway between the saddle and the seatpost clamp (see uploaded video and photo). To go home I had to shorten the stem by snapping off the bottom and inserting the rest of the stem into the seat tube. I'm a 185 pound rider with three other bikes and a different carbon seatpost and have never had a carbon seatpost break.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
