is working. Easy to set up

I installed this in a van about 150 meters from a WiFi source. I got 0 signal without it. He caught the signal and worked, but with errors. I set it up with a WiFi parabolic directional antenna and an Alpha WiFi router. Works like a champ. I'm getting velocities up to 25 m/s from a source that has a maximum velocity of 30 m/s. Without another antenna I pulled a maximum of 5-6 mp. The way I set up the aggregates works great.

Pros
  • Great price

  • Negative gift

A problem with setup if using a MAC

It works as advertised, had no trouble getting a signal from the camping but it was difficult to figure out which setup to connect my Mac to my mobile devices could, and for some reason my Mac wouldn't pick up a camping signal when using the R36A. I tried 2 times to contact ALFA via email but was not contacted. I think they just ignored me.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Not fancy

This router combined with the ALFA AWUS036 antenna is quite easy to set up and really helps to increase WiFi access when travelling to enhance. With this combination of router antennas, I was able to access WiFi or significantly improve WiFi access at campsites. Most importantly, I didn't have to drill holes in the roof and can easily use this rig in my next RV.

  • Very good value for money

R36A didn't fit me

I bought an Alfa R36A router and AWUS036NH amplifier. The amp worked great when plugged directly into my laptop. When I turned on the router, my speed dropped to less than 1 Mbps. No matter what I did (shielding with foil, separating the two devices vertically and horizontally, switching channels, changing the output power, etc.), I could not get an acceptable speed. I couldn't do anything with the received signal. I decided to throw it in the lake or buy something else.

Useless on its own: Network adapter

I bought this device with the expectation that I could either connect it to the nearest wireless access point I already have or connect that access point to a USB port on this device . You can not do without the other expensive part. There are three options for setup. One of them connects the cable to the local network. Second, using another Wi-Fi network, which is not possible even with a hotspot sitting on it and no other hardware connected via USB. The third is to plug in another separate…

RV WiFi Booster: Networking Products

I bought this as an upgrade to our Alfa WiFi Camp Pro which I bought over a year ago. The original was fine, but the interface was very clunky and the max speed I could get (when connected to a 10Mbps signal) was 1Mbps. Not enough for anything (Netflix, YouTube, Roku, etc.). I put this WiFi router (R36A) in place of the original R36 and found the speed increased to 3-6Mbps (on the same network 10Mbps). So essentially > 3x increase. And the new user interface is much simpler and cleaner. I…

Pros
  • Ideal for me
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

Great router but not easy to set up to get the best throughput!

Hello friends, here are some tips for tuning Alfa R36A with Alfa AWUS036NH.1. Change the channel of your new Wi-Fi network. Example: The original Wi-Fi is channel 1 and your new Wi-Fi must be on channel 6 or 11.2. Separate the Alfa R36A from the Alfa AWUS036NH.3 by about 1.5 meters. Disable lower network modes, I configure the source to use mixed 802.11g, 802.11n. (Bandwidth is better). Disable 802.11b.4. Uses App Wifi Analyzer to find less congested frequencies. Other networks exist.! You…
