I'm obsessed with quality

I recently bought alligator clips at a radio store but I like them much better. This brand seems to care about quality so I would suggest buying these if you need alligator clips.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Damaged

What can I say. Good quality alligator clips

Unlike cheap alligator clips, these have well-aligned jaws that engage fully and straight. The copper finish is easy to solder or if you prefer the screw is square threaded and provides an excellent connection for the wire to where you intend to mount it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • So far so good

not what is advertised

The description clearly states that all copper EXCEPT the rivet being a solid copper rivet affects clamp strength and durability. The photos even show an iron rivet. I read all the reviews and either other buyers missed it or they took the bait and switched me. Makes me angry. I won't trust them anymore.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Want to make some good clips?

These alligator clips are of very good quality. The jaws are difficult to open, but are well clamped. If you want to make really good clips, buy the silicone wire they sell here. Choose the right gauge for the amperage you need to deliver. Solder them on and you've got better leads than you can buy.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Copper is soft, so don't expect steel jaws.

Ideal for testing wires and conductivity in thin wires. I haven't soldered or crimped the wires to the ends yet, but they seem strong enough for small projects. The insulating covers are quite large and a bit in the way, but they work. Good product but next time I'll probably choose something more durable than copper.

Pros
  • Heavy duty
Cons
  • Negative impression

HEAVY DUTY - Hand Tools

They are amazing and exceed my expectations. I used these along with 16 gauge silicone wire and retractable banana plugs to make my own lab leads as I was fed up with the regular wire that didn't fit the gauge. It's a very heavy, thick solid copper with a smooth action and sharp teeth that grip well. I will definitely buy more of these. Too bad I couldn't find them in different sizes, bigger and smaller.

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • Crumpled

qualitative. About the clips

Regarding the 1.4" clips: The solid copper body (except for the hinge pin and electroplated copper spring) makes it very easy to solder leads. The toe jaws and pads are actual oriented squarely so they can be easily clamped, which brings us to the final point: the boots are fairly grippy and not slippery like some of the test lead clamps I've bought.

Pros
  • Tools and Household Items
Cons
  • Expensive

Hardly any use: Hand tool

Magnet only attracts pivots so I assume they are copper as advertised. But they're varnished or something, I really had to pry each one up with a small screwdriver to open them first. After that, they're really hard to open with your fingers, as there's very little mechanical advantage due to the tiny area your finger can press on from above, and the hinge and spring feel very stiff and grainy. Vinyl boots are slippery on the inside, which adds to the fun. Bad design, bad execution, avoid.

Pros
  • Spring clamps
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
