Cheap Transmission Insurance

Great value. It is very easy to replace this filter, so cheap insurance for a very expensive gearbox. It appears to be a genuine US made OEM filter. It was packaged very well in a separate box so there was no damage and it was sealed well. The magnet is attached and protected on the filter itself. I'll be sure to get one every 10,000 spare miles.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not the best

Broken magnet: transmission filter and accessories

I had to check the contents of the box before removing the old one, the magnet was broken in two! I should have taken the hint when I saw that the box was wrapped with an extra piece of clear tape. I've used these filters before and never had this problem. I would come back but I had to pack my truck. I just used an old magnet there.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Phenomenal RED filter!

Perfect fit and very high quality assembly. Use nothing less than Allison genuine fluids and filters. Don't forget magnets! Also, fill the filter with the correct fluid before installing, otherwise the transmission oil will drip out. Check the fluid level on the HOT test per factory instructions and procedures and verify the reading by re-measuring the dipstick.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged

GREAT OEM replacement!

The perfect OEM replacement for my 2002 Silverado 2500 HD with Allison 1000 drive train It arrived safe and sound and it was pretty obvious it was an Allison product. Since the cost is only a few bucks more, I'm happy to buy a filter with a magnet instead of going back to the old magnet over and over again. Everything is to OEM specs and I have absolutely no complaints. Great product, highly recommend!

Broken magnet. do not buy!

I ordered this from a seller and received a box with a broken magnet in it, sent it back and ordered another from another seller and got a broken magnet here too. If it was just a magnet we could throw it away and just use a filter, but that defeats the purpose of the magnet. I'm worried that all those little bits of magnet will disappear. Probably in the filter, on the output side, to feed directly into the transmission.

Pros
  • Easy to read panel
Cons
  • Volume

Best Value in Transmission Filters

Great Allison Transmission for my 2016 Chevrolet 3500HD. I wasn't sure if my current filter had a magnet, but it did have a magnet, so I now have a spare for my next filter change. I was glad I changed the filter and checked the transmission oil as it turned out that my transmission was apparently 2 liters less than factory. I changed the filter at 11,000 miles so I'm glad the gearbox didn't suffer. Who would have thought you would need to test the transmission fluid when it should have been…
