Allsop Metal Art Jr Review

I've had several of these monitor stands before and never had any problems with them, but got a second one to add a second monitor to my home office and to my surprise it's utter rubbish. It is deformed/concave and the monitor shakes. This is nothing more than a supposedly identical product that I ordered a few years ago - it was much lighter, lighter in color and the metal was thin. There's no way he can handle 40 pounds. A normal-sized monitor is too much for him. I hope it was an accident…

I have a large Microsoft keyboard that is unusually bulky and wide. I was concerned that she would not work with this JR. The stand is true to size but I'm so glad I didn't get a bigger one. As you can see in my photos above (with product photos posted by MMc) I have the dimensions of my keyboard (18" long) and the monitor screen and monitor base. Works well as a heatsink and riser for media devices. The height allows airflow from below and the metal acts as a heatsink, which is great for passive cooling. I have a Roku and Samsung Smart Hub on one and just ordered two more for other media devices. The Roku feels a little cooler and the metal feels warm when the Roku flows, so you can tell the heat sink effect is working. That's not an impressive amount of cooling, and I have an open case, so you'll need some sort of fan for extra cooling

1. It's cheap and fairly solid, but the platform isn't perfectly flat. So if you put anything other than a tripod (e.g. speakers) on them they will shake 2.
