Too short, not a genuine replacement

Too short to use (1973 c20 big block). Short and bolts elsewhere in the bell. It is very difficult to access the bell bolt when you have a large block. I installed it anyway because it's not worth sending back.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Nice but not suitable for 6.0/4l80

Overall this is a good pen with a lock. It will NOT fit the LS/4l80 combination. You can see in the picture how I cut the bracket off and welded it back on somewhere else to use one of the bolts on the head. But overall I'm happy with it.

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Manufacturing required

The attachment tab was on the wrong side of the tube. My Gen 3 LS application with TH400 in TJ Jeep. I don't know what it was for, but I had to cut off the attachment tab and weld it on the other side. I don't see it working the way it was made to work with any engine/transmission combination.

Shop something even better in Motors & Motor Parts

6.0/4L80e Had to switch to Locar feeler gauge. Transmission seal was leaking. It was properly installed and bolted to the bell housing prior to installing the engine and gearbox. There was a serious problem with an ATF leak from the exhaust and a lot of work had to be done to fit a new one to the car.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons

quality product! in dipsticks and tubes

This dipstick has the right end to fit a small block Chevy engine and not leak. Also, it has a latch at the top. The only adjustment I had to make was grinding down the tongue which was going to be bolted to the bell body. I just didn't have room for that tab. Everything else fits perfectly and works perfectly. This is a quality probe and the price is right.

Well done no leaks no modification will fit

My bid for a 1964 Impala with original 327 small block and T350 transmission and it was fitted to the car with the engine and transmission. This oil dipstick tube was well made except for the plastic locking knob and it fits my car perfectly which makes it very easy to install. My last dipstick tube used a different mounting bolt. This is done using the top bolt of the gearbox housing on the passenger side near the engine head. This tube is solid and the mounting bracket is solid so removing…

  • Very good price

  • Unbelievable price

Set 1 hour! Bracket is ok.

Anyone who writes that the shackle is in the wrong position is trying to screw it onto the 3 o'clock mark on the bell. Me too at first. It goes slightly to the passenger side of the manifold at the 1 o'clock position. If you have minimal firewall clearance, like I have on my 1971 Nova, it will be difficult to get to the bellbolt. You need to remove the header for easier access. It's a real pain trying to get the screw back, but the strut lines up perfectly. I had to use rubber tubing to catch…
