Dissatisfied with Alpine!

I've had too many Alpine head units to mention. My last one was bought 6 years ago and I installed it on my boat. Last week the source button stopped working, no sound, no functions. I decided on this device, removed the old one and installed this one. Connections made and power on. Nothing! YUP! I had to unpack and repack everything to send it back. Now I have to wait for another squad to get here. Very disappointing!

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Damaged

Pandora doesn't work with my Android Pixel 2

Visible during the day with shirt off. I have a mechanical stereo because I can't remember the last time I used a CD. When I drive I mainly listen to Pandora, the problem is that I can't use Pandora on this device. Every time it says no device. I need to use BT audio and that doesn't allow me to control Pandora from an Alpine device. Also, you cannot scroll by song/artist, you can scroll by either song or artist. It's a small problem, but annoying. I think I will return to Kenwood.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Great stereo for the price. I want you to be able to see the screen better.

Perfect connection to Bluetooth. The only thing I don't like about it is that 1. It's very hard to see what's on the screen, day or night, and 2. When connected via Bluetooth, it doesn't show what's playing from my Apple Music. I have a marine grade JVC that I bought for my Wrangler and I can see the screen at all times and it shows what I'm playing from my phone via bluetooth. Both stereos cost the same, so I'd like to buy a JVC for both of my cars. I bought both around the same time so can't…

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Bluetooth disconnects randomly

Worked fine for about a month or two, then the Bluetooth does not accidentally connect or turn off spontaneously. Most annoying is when it stutters (play-pause-play-pause-play-pause. You get the idea) until I unplug it and plug it in manually. Sometimes I have to turn off the car and turn on the head unit for it to work. Amazing sound, great sound controls, but damn bluetooth! Docking 3 only boots due to Bluetooth (this head unit was purchased to be used exclusively with BT). And yes, I checked

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Possibility of update

Makes a big difference

I have previously ordered a JVC head unit which broke due to a faulty charger I connected to the radio (my fault but there could have been more protection against such a case anyway have to) So, to replace it, I went with my trusted Alpine brand. I had already replaced my factory speakers with some Alpine components but was still using the factory HU temporarily. After a simple installation, the difference was incredible. The sound is so clear and the bass sounds great, although the speakers…

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Fits

Don't miss this unit.

Two years ago I had a two din stereo ($350). It didn't last long and it won't connect to my phone. While he had many options, there was no point if he didn't log in. Nowadays our phones evolve and our head units become obsolete within a year or two. This is nobody's fault because they are two different entities. This time I came back to a dean who wanted to "downgrade". The only thing I missed was the rear camera function and the presence of an equalizer with many sound settings. For the price…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Expensive

First I bought the recommended Nakamichi block, which was garbage. It was an unfinished product that felt like a child's toy at a discounted price. I had to buy an apline device while I was at it before Amazon pointed me to the wrong device. So I returned Nakamichi and bought an Alpine. So happy. 10 times better. Firmly. Perfect menu options. Accessibility and ergonomics in alpine quality. Yes. Significantly worse than devices from 8 years ago, but still better than other offers at the same…
