Too easy for hiking

Only these 34 days. As you can see, the very first short but tough hike in the desert damaged the upper of the shoe. No returns after 30 days, so be careful. Very comfortable but I won't be wearing them around town due to damage. Quite expensive. If I could do a rebuild I would still buy them, but I wouldn't take them hiking as advertised.

Pros
  • Sporty
Cons
  • All right

Casual Comfortable Hiker: Trail Running

I have worn and own many pairs of Altra shoes. It's a combination of everything I love about Altra. I have to say that I am not an avid hiker or crazy runner. I started my journey in sandals but wanted more cushioning. The fit is great and the ego foam is amazing. The show seems to be more casual than hardcore, so I'd say those looking for weatherproof running/hiking shoes are looking for all-weather shoes.

Pros
  • Men's
Cons
  • Frequency

Great men's hiking shoes

Bought these boots for hiking in North Carolina. I've used them on some fairly intense hikes. Super comfortable and fit my foot well. The toe box was a little big for my thin toes and the healing seemed a bit low so I had to add an extra insole. But mainly because I have a thin and flat foot. The protector is ideal for hiking. But not for everyday walking on a flat surface. All in all they were great boots and very comfortable. loves these boots.

Pros
  • Trail running
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Super light and COMFORTABLE

Tired of hiking with cement blocks on your feet? Tired of sweaty feet that look like you've just swum the English Channel when you take off your shoes and socks? Tired of inferior hiking shoes from well-known brands (yes, you are Merrill)? Try it! The fit is true to size. They are very light and require almost no break-in. You breathe very well. The rubber and upper hold up well for about 60 miles of aggressive Southern California mountain hiking. All in all I am very satisfied and wouldโ€ฆ

Rails wear out too quickly!

Lone Peak 4 lasted three months. This pair lasts only a month, almost a day. The lower part of the tread wore out very quickly. my daily gait has not changed at all. They are also about half a size smaller. After a month of wearing them I have IT tape on both legs and I am in excruciating pain. Those were the only shoes I've been able to wear for the last 10 years and now I'm in serious trouble. If they changed the shoes that drastically, they would keep the original and invent a new oneโ€ฆ
